A real estate tycoon is responsible for a faulty skybridge that killed fifteen people, and Bull works to bring him down...despite the man also being his landlord, who makes TAC's job difficult by cutting their power and bribing their mirror jurors. Meanwhile, Benny is under investigation for a trial he was a key part of, which will affect him for the rest of the season.
- A Million Is a Statistic: Played with, as the landlord sees everyone as a statistic rather than as people. A key piece of evidence is his recordings of the average monetary value of various professions, as it helped him decide whether the costs of proper construction would be more or less than the value of lives potentially lost.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: The chief engineer of the failed skybridge dies during the case, and while it looks like suicide, Bull is convinced that the landlord used some connections to have him offed.
- The Sociopath: The landlord turns out to be a terrifying example of how having a total Lack of Empathy and a firm belief in the power of money can mix.
