Ronnie's surprise birthday party for Harry falls apart when the guests argue and snipe at each other. Steven is discovered to have applied for a headmaster position at a private school.
Tropes present in the episode:
- Bottle Episode: This is markedly the only episode in the entire show that doesn't take place at least mainly on school grounds.
- Camera Fiend: Harvey spends the episode recording the party's shenanigans with a camcorder.
- Everything Is Racist: A variation. Danny suspects that Steven recommended Marla to replace him to avoid criticism from the black community. Steven is NOT pleased with this accusation.
- Tranquil Fury: Steven as he rebukes Danny for his accusation that he only recommended Marla because she's black like himself.Steven: Danny, you are entitled to your opinions. But if you ever insult my integrity like that again, you will be fired. Do it to me in public, you'll get worse.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Scott calls out the other guests for their treatment of Meredith after she leaves.
