Recap / Bones S 6 E 15 The Killer In The Crosshairs

Go To

Booth's rogue sniper mentor Jacob Broadsky strikes again, killing a prior suspect who escaped the justice system and leading Booth to utilize his own skills to stop Broadsky before he kills again. Meanwhile, Angela's father (Billy Gibbons) visits the Jeffersonian where he insists on being able to name his unborn grandchild, much to Hodgins' dismay.

Tropes

  • Background Music: Billy Gibbons gets his very own background riffs. Then again, it is Billy Gibbons.
  • Blatant Lies: Angela's dad claims Hodgins asked to get a tattoo of him on his right shoulder, to mirror the one of Angela on the left.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Hodgins tells his father-in-law that they will name the baby either Michael Joseph or Katherine Temperance. While two of those names are obviously from the characters Michael Hodgins and Temperance Brennan, the other two names come from TJ Thyne's middle name and real-life author (in-universe fictional character) Kathy Reichs.
  • Lightswitch Surprise: Broadsky greets Booth in his home, sitting on Booth's sofa and holding a loaded gun.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Brennan keeps comparing Booth and Broadsky, as they're both snipers, which upsets Booth a great deal. The episode ends, however, with Brennan noting the key difference between them; Broadsky is bad, Booth is good.
