Wannabe singer Tommy Sour is found in a grassy location, leading detectives back to the restaurant where the victim used to sing and where several suspects who took part in the open mike contest still perform, including a woman who was obsessed with the deceased and transfers said obsession towards Booth after learning of her beloved's death. Brennan reveals she is more musically inclined than she appears, and Booth is shot, his fate unknown.

- The Cast Show Off: Dr. Brennan tells the cast that her mother insisted that Temperance sang "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" better then Cyndi Lauper. Emily Deschanel gets the chance to prove that later in the episode.

- Laser-Guided Karma: Tommy's neighbor killed him because he was always singing loudly. Thus Tommy was no longer present to turn off his alarm clock, tormenting the neighbor with weeks of non-stop alarms.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: The closing credits include characters identified as "Kanye West Wanna-Be," "Dolly Parton Wanna-Be" and "Springsteen Wanna-Be."
- Oh, Crap!: Sweets realizes what's going to happen with Pam when Booth touches her shoulder.
- Cliffhanger: Tommy's crazy stalker, fat Pam, starts stalking Booth, then shows up at the end of the episode to shoot Brennan. However, Booth stands up and takes the bullet instead.
