Go To

The remains of famous billionaire explorer Henry Charles are found in The Arctic fifteen years after he went missing, and the team must determine whether it was murder or accident. Upon discovering that A) Charles was indeed murdered by someone on his exploration team and B) one of said team members was the Jeffersonian's own Dr. Clark Edison, the case grows more complicated. Meanwhile, Cam's sister comes into town to help with wedding plans and old family friction comes into the picture.

Tropes

  • The Glorious War of Sisterly Rivalry: Cam's sister comes to town to help plan the wedding, and all her choices are completely wrong for what Cam really wants. Cam doesn't want to say anything because she doesn't want to reignite her old bad blood, but when she finally does open up, her sister is completely understanding.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: The original expedition apparently discovered evidence that the Frank Expedition back in the 1860s resorted to cannibalism after their ship crashed on the Arctic coast. The subsequent investigation revealed that Doctor Marcus Eldridge faked the evidence of cannibalism to make a more dramatic story for his subsequent book.
  • My Greatest Failure: Clark reveals that while he was on the expedition, he covered up a mistake made by his current lover, Doctor Hazel Mitchell, that compromised the bones she was excavating. Later, he criticises himself when it's revealed that Doctor Marcus Eldridge faked the evidence that the Frank Expedition resorted to cannibalism.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: After Clark blames himself for not spotting Eldridge's fake evidence of cannibalism, Brennan writes a whole article essentially defending Clark, assuring him that he wasn't a trained forensic anthropologist when he made that mistake and he shouldn't blame himself for missing the evidence.
