• Acquired Error at the Printer: The first appearance of a Running Gag throughout the series. Apparently, there is constant miscommunication between Mr. Peanutbutter and the people who print his banners.

• Bait-and-Switch: The receipt that BoJack used previously to sabotage Todd's chance at a professional career is almost picked up from under the Sofa, but BoJack's jury duty from under it is swiped instead. Todd ends up figuring out what BoJack did without ever finding it.
• Bat Deduction: When Todd notices on the news that Margo Martindale was arrested, he pieces this along with various other details together, to come to the conclusion that BoJack sabotaged his rock opera chance.
• Chekhov's Gun: Double-subverted. Todd never finds the receipt for the video game BoJack used to sabotage his Rock Opera, but eventually figures out what happened via Bat Deduction after the incident in Spotting the Thread below.
• Mailman vs. Dog: When talking to Officer Meow-Meow, Mister Peanutbutter notices a mailman driving by. The two briefly glare daggers at each other.
• Only Sane Man: As he repeatedly points out, BoJack seems to be the only one to notice that Princess Carolyn's new boyfriend is three children stacked on top of each other in a trench coat.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Todd gives a short one to BoJack after he decides he's doesn't want to help him sabotage Diane's wedding.
  Todd: Hey, man, she made her choice. Look around. This day is not about you, okay? So maybe you should just stop trying to mess with other people's lives.
• Spotting the Thread: Todd manages to figure out about BoJack's sabotaging from earlier from nothing more than hearing on the news about the name of a (supposed) bank thief. That person was a celebrity that BoJack knows, but was also the person who asked Todd for contents where the video game that distracted him was.
• Totem Pole Trench: First appearance of Vincent Adultman, who is definitely not three kids stacked on top of each other doing that thing from Our Gang.
• Visual Pun: At Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter's wedding reception, a wolf wearing a shirt that says SHEEP approaches a sheep (a play on “wolf in sheep's clothing).
