"Where's all that jazz we talked about?"

"I think I might be a night club person."
—Bob

Bob agrees to be the temporary chef at the Fischoeders' new nightclub in exchange for a month of free rent. Meanwhile, the kids decide to throw a pool party in the restaurant basement using an old, rusty metal tub that Teddy was hauling to the dump.

Trope-a-Bob-bana:

  • The Bus Came Back: Mickey makes his first appearance since Season 5's "Best Burger".
    • The Fischoeders' cousin Grover returns from Season 9's "Roamin' Bob-iday". Felix also returns for the first time since that episode, after having sat out Season 10.
  • Call-Back: In "Poops!... I Didn't Do It Again", Bob mentions the time Linda used a bucket as a toilet at a wedding because there was a too-long line for the bathroom. When Felix locks Linda in a closet, she pees in a mop bucket because she really had to go.
  • Chekhov's Gun: While touring the nightclub, Grover warns Felix not to tear down a wall because there is a sewer line behind it. Later, Felix plans to break that pipe in the middle of Calvin's song as revenge.
  • Conspicuous Consumption: Calvin is so rich that he apparently thinks of purchasing cars as a pre-show ritual.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Bob apologizes to his restaurant's appliances as if he was cheating on them.
  • Eye Twitch: Felix really loses it when he learns that Calvin is dismissive of his nightclub dreams.
  • Fleeting Passionate Hobbies: Felix has a history of these, so Calvin expects that he'll get bored with running a nightclub after a day or two. He didn't even bother with getting permits, knowing it wouldn't last long.
Felix: You never believed in Jazzaret!
Calvin: You have never finished anything in your Jazza-life!
  • Foreshadowing: After the Fischoeders make their offer to Bob, Calvin refers to the nightclub as a "little project", which angers Felix. This hints at how Calvin believes the nightclub is nothing more than a mere side-project Felix will get bored of in no time.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Part of Louise's motivation for the basement pool party seems to be her envy of Chloe Barbash's fancy pool; plus being less than pleased to see that Rudy apparently still has a big interest in the girl, Louise is also annoyed that Rudy even invited Chloe with out running it by her first.
  • I Will Show You X!: Felix has just overheard Bob talking about the club being fake.
    Bob: Jazz-ball?
    Felix: Oh, I'll jazz-ball them. I'll jazz-ball them all!
  • Jerkass: Chloe Barbash hasn't lost it.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Despite using it to bully his brother, Calvin is completely right that Felix has a bad habit of being unable to commit to anything.
  • Loose Lips: Or, as Calvin puts it:
Calvin: Loose lips. Wide hips. Large nips, I assume.
  • Manchild: Felix, to the point that Calvin outright treats him like a child.
  • Man-Made House Flood: The kids bring a rusty old tub inside the basement and throw a secret pool party. Unfortunately, the tub leaks, and they have to soak up the water with hamburger buns.
  • Never My Fault: For once, Louise averts it as she makes it clear that the kids' shenanigans aren't on Jen.
  • The Nicknamer: Calvin refers to the Belcher kids as "Burger Children", and Linda as both "Female Bob" and "Lady Burger".
  • Noodle Incident: The kids once fooled Jen into believing there was a "Super-Duper Daylight Savings Time".
Gene: We all shared a sunrise.
  • Oblivious to Their Own Description: Louise loudly whispers about Chloe Barbash: “She’s so jealous, it’s so sad.” For context, she spends the episode envious over Chloe's pool.
  • Ordered Apology: When the Fischoeders show up at the restaurant at the end of the episode, Calvin forces Felix to apologize to Linda for locking her in the closet.
  • Orphaned Punchline: "And that's why octopuses have no pants!"
  • Pet the Dog: At the end of the episode, Calvin upholds his promise of a month’s free rent to Bob even after all of the chaos that ensued.
  • Potty Failure: Linda goes to the bathroom when she catches Felix grabbing a sledgehammer, planning to sabotage Calvin's performance with it. So she doesn't tell anyone, Felix locks Linda in the closet, where she ends up peeing in a bucket.
  • Right Behind Me: Bob tells Linda how Calvin thinks Felix will get tired of the nightclub and expect it to close shortly. Unfortunately, Felix overheard them.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The title is one to Barry Manilow's song "Copacabana."
    • In the opening credits, the Store Next Door is Lou's Reeds Wind Instruments and the Exterminator Van is Vermin Down the House.
    • The first Burger of the Day is the Paint It Blackberry burger.
    • Linda wants to see the night club because she wants to see "a real Casablanca, but without all the Nazis." The second Burger of the Day is also the "Play It Again, Yam" Burger.
    • In Bob’s "conversation" with his grill, the grill confesses to fantasizing about being cooked on by the Swedish Chef.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial:
    • When Bob is looking for Linda, Felix snaps that he doesn't know because it's not like he locked her in a closet or anything.
    • When Bob catches the kids leaving the basement, Tina blurts out that there weren’t any other kids there.
  • That Came Out Wrong: Felix wants to call the crab cakes "Scat Cakes" to go with his jazz music theme. Bob lampshades how poorly-planned this would be.
Bob: I'm not sure you want the word "scat" on your menu.
  • Unusual Euphemism: Zeke refers to his testicles as "munchkins".
