See the bottom folder for the extended 10-year anniversary version.

BoBoiBoy takes a train ride to Rintis Island, where he is to be spending the school holiday with Tok Aba, his grandfather. Meanwhile, Adu Du, decides to arrive on Earth after learning it has an abundance of cocoa, which is a very potent power source on his planet. The next day, BoBoiBoy helps out at Tok Aba's Cocoa Shop and makes acquaintances with his to-be group of friends, who have heard of BoBoiBoy from Tok Aba.

After his transmission to the Earthlings fails at being threatening, Adu Du sends his robotic right-hand Probe to retrieve cocoa to activate their Power Sphere. As BoBoiBoy is tending to Tok Aba's store on his own, he sees Probe stealing one of the cocoa cans and chases him. He is led to the spaceship and crawls around the ventilation system, and sees the aliens from above as the cocoa is inserted into the Power Sphere. After they leave, BoBoiBoy retrieves the cocoa can and runs, not noticing the Power Sphere following him. They are briefly pursued until they escape the ship.

That evening, when BoBoiBoy ponders the day's events, he is shocked by his soccer ball turning into the yellow spherical robot he saw on the spaceship earlier. The Power Sphere introduces himself as Ochobot, and that he is meant to give his master powers. Two "power bands/watches" appear on BoBoiBoy's wrists, and he discovers that he has been given superpowers over the elements of lightning, wind and earth.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Air-Vent Passageway: BoBoiBoy uses the vents of the spaceship to get around undetected and eventually finds his stolen cocoa can.
  • Cassandra Truth: BoBoiBoy explains to Tok Aba that he ran off from the stall to chase an alien who stole some cocoa, and got chased by a giant robot. Tok Aba dismisses it, saying that his grandson must've had too much cocoa.
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: Adu Du attempts to make his demands known to Earth through the television, but BoBoiBoy changes the channel thinking it was an uninteresting TV show. Supposedly, no one one else paid any mind to the broadcast either.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Probe expects some thanks for successfully retrieving the cocoa, but his boss throws another cup at him. When Probe asks what he did wrong, Adu Du says he's mad at him for giving misinformation on the Earthlings (they don't feed on green creatures like Adu Du, those were images of vegetables being cooked that Probe had found.)
  • Humans Through Alien Eyes: Probe reveals some horrifying information about humans to Adu Du about what they do to green creatures, not knowing what broccoli was. They would cut them into small pieces, put them in boiling water, and finally force their kids to eat every last one of them. His boss faints on the floor as a result. Later, as Probe goes out to steal some cocoa, he sees an ad depicting a knife chopping a purple creature like him, not knowing that eggplants were food. He screams and runs, alerting BoBoiBoy, who proceeds to chase him.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Tok Aba calls out BoBoiBoy for hugging the wrong person, and only then does the latter realise that he hugged someone else instead of his grandfather. As the kid who Tok Aba mistakenly hugged moments ago says, "Huh, speak for yourself."
  • In Medias Res: The episode begins with a scene of BoBoiBoy being chased by Probe, the theme song plays, and the episode goes normally, reaching that scene again later on.
  • Indy Hat Roll: As BoBoiBoy escapes the spaceship, Probe is chasing him while the corridor's doors slowly close. One of the doors closes on Probe's hand, which shoots out two homing missiles towards BoBoiBoy. He just manages to barrel roll down the last door before the missiles hit the door instead.
  • Is This Thing Still On?: The train conductor gives the final announcement to his passengers that they'll be arriving soon, before he expresses his enthusiasm to go sing karaoke after his shift. The second part wasn't meant to be broadcast, and BoBoiBoy goes to the front to inform him his microphone was still on, but not before he got a good laugh first.
  • Kids Hate Vegetables: When Adu Du's computer explains that humans seemingly eat green aliens, it's showing pictures of broccoli being prepared and fed to a visibly disgusted kid.
  • Mistaken Identity:
    • When BoBoiBoy boards off the train, he and Tok Aba appear to be running towards each other for a hug. It turns out that both of them were hugging different people, and mistaken said other person for each other.
Tok Aba: Oi! Who do you think you're hugging over there? That's not me!
BoBoiBoy: [upon looking up] Uh, hehe. Sorry mister.
      Tok Aba: Hmph!
Child Passenger: Huh, speak for yourself.
    • Ochobot believes BoBoiBoy to be his master because he's the first figure he laid eyes on when the latter was escaping his room with the cocoa. He gives superpowers to BoBoiBoy as a result, as he's meant to give powers to whoever activates him.
  • Powers in the First Episode: Ochobot gives BoBoiBoy his elemental superpowers near the end of the episode.
  • Shapeshifting: Ochobot disguises himself as BoBoiBoy's soccer ball to sneak home with him.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: As BoBoiBoy reads the list of instructions that Tok Aba left for him, the step that follows locking the front door behind him is "Say hi to Yaya". The moment he moves the list out of view, Yaya appears from right behind it to greet him, startling him so much that he screams.
BoBoiBoy: What did you do that for? You almost gave me a heart attack!
    Yaya: (giggles sheepishly)
  • Tempting Fate: BoBoiBoy is anxious about taking care of Tok Aba's stall, to which Tok Aba replies that it wasn't as if the customers would be aliens. Not long after, BoBoiBoy happens upon the series' alien antagonists.

Extended version: Prologue + Epilogue (Spoilers for BoBoiBoy Movie 2 )
In 2021, 10 years since the first episode's airing, an extended edition of it was uploaded, with a newly animated prologue and epilogue.
Prologue:
Amato and MechaBot see BoBoiBoy off at the train station. After the train door opens, Amato tells his son to take care of himself. BoBoiBoy asks his father when he will come back, to which he replies that he doesn't know, but will make haste to return. They hug, saying how much they'll miss each other. BoBoiBoy tells MechaBot to take care of his father, and the robot bids his goodbyes and reminds him to behave. BoBoiBoy hopes that they can play their Mechanize games sometime soon.

The announcement system repeats that the train will be departing soon, and BoBoiBoy finally boards after officially bidding him farewell. He waves to his father from inside the moving train, requesting that he send him a postcard. Amato, running lightly along with the train until the end of the platform, tells him to send his greetings to Tok Aba. Once the train is gone, Amato receives a holographic transmission from Maskmana, telling him and MechaBot that it's time to go. A strong wind and a blue glow comes from an unseen, flying vehicle, and the two smile to the above.

Epilogue:
Tok Aba starts a recorded message addressed to Amato, showing him that his son arrived safely and fell fast asleep after a tiring day. He talks about how his grandson reminds him of the latter's father, and also shows him the Power Sphere that BoBoiBoy happened to find, just like Amato once did with MechaBot. Ochobot was also fast asleep in his own special charging bed. Tok Aba sighs, unsure if he'll be able to handle raising another hero.

The view zooms out to reveal Mechamato already watching the recording, and chuckling at his father's message. He appears gloomy for a bit, and then he rewinds the recording to stop at his sleeping son. He places his hand on the screen longingly, and before continuing his mission aboard his spaceship, says:

Mechamato: Wait for me, BoBoiBoy. I'll be back soon.

Extended Episode 1 contains examples of:

  • Call-Forward:
    • MechaBot takes a picture of BoBoiBoy as he boards the train. Said image appears later in the series chronology, in Mechamato's earlier 2019 debut in The Stinger of BoBoiBoy Movie 2, as Amato keeps pictures of his son with him on missions.
    • BoBoiBoy's last words to his father before the train leaves is for him to send the former a postcard. He finally gets that postcard from his parents in Season 3, which has an image of an impeccably starry night sky and almost alien-looking terrain.
  • Hopeless with Tech: Downplayed. Tok Aba struggles at setting up a camera for a bit at the start of his recorded update for Amato.
  • Revision: The extensions paint the story as Amato's intergalactic occupation and the existence of aliens being common information to BoBoiBoy and Tok Aba since before the series, while the audience was more or less in the dark.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: For most of the show, BoBoiBoy's parents were known as busy ambassadors, while the prologue implies that he knew his dad's intergalactic hero status from the get go. Amato can't say when he'll be back yet, but he says he'll be home soon, and his son appears hopeful that he will.
BoBoiBoy: Dad, when are you coming back?
Amato: I'm not sure, my son. I'll come home as soon as I can, okay?
    BoBoiBoy: Come home soon, alright?
