Jefferson and Anissa join forces with the ASA to help one of their own. Meanwhile, Lynn is forced to continue battling her demons.
- Badass Crew: One is formed to extract Lynn, in reference to the Outsiders, composed of Jefferson, Anissa, Jennifer, Gambi, Brandon, TC, Grace, Sergeant Grayle and Erica Moran.
- The Bus Came Back:
- Dr. Jace returns for the first time since the Season 2 finale.
- Grace returns after a few episodes of being absent.
- The Corrupter: Painkiller tries to convince Khalil that he needs him and has a Villainous Breakdown when Khalil eventually turns his back on him.
- Enemy Mine: Jefferson and his friends are forced to join forces with the ASA (more particularly, Major Grey) to free Lynn. Naturally, nobody's happy with it.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Jennifer's advancing powers are what's needed to extract Khalil from his own mind.
- Even Evil Has Standards:
- Mosin speaks of Odell as "the devil" when he reveals to Lynn that it was none other than him who got her hooked on Green Light.
- Dr. Blair is obviously disturbed when Major Grey forces him to implant a kill protocol inside of Erica, in case they can't extract Lynn, meaning Erica will be forced to kill her.
- Fights Like a Normal: Grace and Anissa have a little sparring match after the latter tries to stop the former to come to Markovia with her.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: When we first see Dr. Jace, she has made a plan to try and befriend Lynn, and is convinced it will work. Cue Gilligan Cut to Lynn giving Dr. Jace a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
- Going Cold Turkey: Lynn tries her best to not take the Green Light pill the Markovians are offering her, but she eventually relents.
- I Am a Monster: After realizing what the ASA did to him and made him do, Khalil tells Jennifer that he can't be with her.
- I Gave My Word: Jefferson makes Major Grey promise to give all of his friends and family immunity in exchange for their help.
- Internal Reveal:
- Lynn's kidnapping is revealed to Jefferson and his friends/family, as well as her attempt to free Tobias by Sergeant Grayle.
- Jefferson also reveals her addiction to Anissa.
- Mosin reveals to Lynn that it was Odell who got her hooked on Green Light.
- Journey to the Center of the Mind: TC enters Khalil's consciousnes through his brain chip. Eventually, Jennifer is able to get the real Khalil out of there after locking up Painkiller.
- Lightning Can Do Anything: Jennifer's powers are able to drive Painkiller behind a firewall, allowing TC to lock him up and leaving Khalil to take back his body.
- The Mole: Nurse Allen is revealed as this for the Markovians.
- Mythology Gag: Jefferson chides Gambi for letting two “outsiders” into his sanctum. TC and Byron’s comic-book counterparts, Technocrat and Geo-Force, were both members of the Outsiders.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Lynn gives Dr. Jace a beating for everything she has done, which gets broken up by the Markovians.
- Noodle Incident: Gambi has been to Markovia in the past, he even speaks the language.
- No Social Skills:
- TC can't convince Khalil on his own to leave his mind prison due to not being good with people.
- Evil version with Dr. Jace, who tries extremely awkwardly to win Lynn's trust.
- Not So Above It All: TC does a mocking dance off to Painkiller once he is locked inside the Firewall.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Dr. Jace tries to pull this card on Lynn, who is rather disgusted by the comparison.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Painkiller is locked up in Khalil's mind, but not destroyed.
- Shock Collar: Mosin has put this on both Dr. Jace and Lynn.
- Troll: Lynn gives Dr. Jace her aunt's peanut butter cookie recipe instead of the stabilizing formula.
- Villain Has a Point: After Anissa, Jefferson too eventually concedes that they will be unable to enter Markovia without the help of the ASA.
- What the Hell, Hero?:
- Jennifer is still angry at everybody for keeping Khalil being alive a secret from her.
- Anissa gives her father a rebuke over keeping Lynn's addiction a secret and helping the resistance instead of her, though she also assures him that her addiction isn't his fault at all.
- You Are What You Hate: Nurse Allen points out that Tobias is black himself when he gets insulted by him.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Dr. Jace is in constant fear of this, now that Mosin also has Lynn. Tobias gleefully rubs it into her face.
