Following the events of the previous episode, Sharon is annoyed at having to be at Dorien's beck and call. Meanwhile, Dorien is attempting to buy a handbag, only to face an item worth £1500, which she can no longer afford. Leaving, she is confronted by Sharon, who decides to show her the ropes of poor-person living.

At the Chigwell house, Dorien complains to Tracey, butting heads with Sharon along the way. However, Tracey tells her to shut up, since she's contributing to the rent. We also find out that Garth and Marcie are broke, so Marcie plans to work on her massage business, whilst Garth has registered with a catering agency.

Tracey wants her rent money now but Dorien has no money, her solicitor keeping the money as a container. Of course, it didn't help that Dorien has been spending what she had on designer clothes. She is promptly taken to a car boot sale to sell off the clothes.

At the car boot sale, Dorien's clothes are bought by Amy Childs (of The Only Way Is Essex fame). She is distraught at what happened, and it doesn't help when Tracey decides that everyone needs to get a job. Garth gets a job as a sandwich artist at "Seedy McCrusty's", Sharon goes back to her old job at "World of Quid", and Dorien is forced to get a job there as well. She ends up becoming the store manager.

This episode contains the following examples:

  • Accidental Pervert: When Mr. Bollond calls up looking for Tracey to service his massive pump, Sharon thinks he means his dick and gives him a massive talking to, not realizing until later that he means an actual pump.
  • As Herself: That really is Amy Childs of The Only Way Is Essex fame, although she isn't named on-screen.
  • Big "NO!": Dorien's response to finding out she's being taken to a Garage Sale.
  • Burger Fool: Garth ends up working for a sandwich chain named "Seedy McCrusty's", which is implied to be one of these - he's quite insistent it's temporary, after all.
  • Buses Are for Freaks: When Dorien's finances are severely reduced, Sharon makes her take the bus in lieu of spending money on a cab. Dorien's reaction is of clear disgust that she has been reduced to what she sees as an inferior transport.
  • Curse Cut Short: Sharon almost says "bellend" before being interrupted by Tracey.
Sharon: Bollond? I thought he said Belle—
    Tracey: Sharon!
  • Dope Slap: Sharon and Tracey threaten to slap Dorien when they learn that she is truly skint.
  • Fallen-on-Hard-Times Job: Dorien's decline into poverty is completed by her having to take up a job at World of Quid, although it's Subverted when she ends up becoming the Manager of the store.
Dorien: Sorry, I don't want to work here.
Sharon: No one does. But like you, we don't have an option.
  • Gamer Chick: Marcie and Poppy play with Travis and Garth on the Nintendo Wii.
  • Garage Sale: Dorien is forcefully taken to one of these in the latter half of the episode in a bid to sell off her designer clothes.
  • The Ghost:
    • Mr Bollond, one of Tracey's customers, who Sharon mistakes for a pervert.
    • Cyril, the dentist partner of Sharon's former manager at World of Quid.
  • Intimate Telecommunications: When Tracey mentions how she works in telesales for a plumbing company now, Sharon, who had just gone of the phone with a man who wanted a massive pump, quips that she didn't realize that it was phone sex she was doing.
  • Miserable Massage: Marcy gives a massage to Dorien, who complains that it's like Guantanamo Bay.
  • Offscreen Crash: Dorien manages to blow up the Wolrd of Quid candle off-screen.
  • One-Shot Character: Amy Childs, Winnie
  • One-Word Title: The name of the episode is simply "Slave".
  • People Fall Off Chairs: Dorien's beach chair fails and throws Dorien to the ground at the Garage Sale.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Dorien blowing up the World of Quid candle by accident off-screen.
  • Titled After the Song: The episode is named for The Rolling Stones song "Slave".
  • Title Drop: Sharon complains about Dorien:
Sharon: No, she's bunging you £500 a week. I'm just her unpaid slave.
  • Unsatisfiable Customer: Dorien becomes one at the start of the episode, calling one of the workers a "snot-nosed Essex princess" simply because she can no longer afford a handbag she wanted.
