When you hang with Nancy Green, things get WILD!
Uncaged

After the Greens' mother/Bill's ex-wife Nancy is released from prison, Bill is afraid to let her take care of them, so Cricket attempts to show her he's cool by releasing the animals from the Big City Zoo with disastrous results.

"Uncaged" contains examples of:

  • Cold Open: The episode opens with one, showing how Nancy got arrested.
  • Curse Cut Short: While Gramma is rambling at Nancy, at one point she says, "You can take your differences and shove 'em up your..." only to be stopped by Remy.
  • Dramatic Irony: Bill and Gramma witness the entire rampage while ironically, the kids and Nancy vow not to tell them.
  • Escaped Animal Rampage: What Cricket and Tilly accidentally cause.
  • Free the Frogs:
    • Nancy tried to free some cows from a dairy factory but got arrested for attempting to do so.
    • To prove he and Tilly are tough enough, Cricket decides to free the orangutan whom Nancy claims is upset and trapped. They end up freeing every animal instead.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Cricket and Tilly's plan to release the orangutan from the zoo ends up going out of control when they unknowingly release all the other animals as well.
  • Good-Times Montage: Between Cricket, Tilly and Nancy as they have fun throughout town.
  • Immediate Sequel: This episode picks up where "Phoenix Rises" left off.
  • Irony: The kids and Nancy decide not to tell Bill and Gramma about the rampage, not knowing they were watching the whole thing and are cool with it.
  • The Lopsided Arm of the Law: The police immediately try to arrest Nancy for releasing the zoo animals, but neither they nor animal control do a thing about the animals themselves.
  • Make a Wish: Attempted with the zookeeper to get the animals to come back. Naturally, it works.
  • The Reveal: Gramma reveals Bill and Nancy are divorced.
  • Shout-Out: To the classic The Twilight Zone (1959) episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet", as a man panics over seeing something in the wing of the plane, only this time it's a monkey pressing its butt against the window.
  • Taking the Heat: Nancy tries to take the blame for letting the animals out to let the kids off free at the risk of going back to jail. Luckily, the kids tell the truth.
  • Time Skip: The episode begins with a Cold Open showing Nancy trying to release cows from a dairy factory but getting arrested for such, then jumps forward to the present day following her release.
