A villain from eons past returns to the forefront.
Eon from Ben 10: Race Against Time returns, now known to be hunting down different versions of Ben from across the multiverse. Ben's team joins up with Ben 10,000 to defeat Eon and his henchmen.

Tropes:

  • Alternate Self: Aside from Ben 10,000, Eon's mooks are brainwashed copies of Ben himself and Eon is also a future version of Ben Tennyson.
  • Brick Joke: Back in "The Forge of Creation", Ben notes that he had Alien X locked behind the Ultimatrix to prevent someone like Albedo from gaining access to such a Story-Breaker Power. Here, Paradox reveals that a universe exists where Albedo did manage to turn into Alien X...only to be stuck motionless for over a year, due to the indecisiveness of the Celestialsapien's alternate personalities.
  • Call-Back: Kevin says he heard about the jerk from the future. Ben 10,000 says that he's a different version, but he adds he does remember meeting that guy. This cues up Paradox talking about crosstime and alternate reality examples.
  • Cast as a Mask: Eon’s masked appearance is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal doing a deeper version of his Ben voice. And when his minions turn out to be alternate Bens, Eon unmasks to reveal that he looks like Ben 10,000 and switches voices to Sean Donnellan.
  • Cincinnatus: Based on dialogue, Ben 10,000 was President of Earth during a major crisis and saved the entire planet, but he was quite content to step aside for Gwen (who, he says, was more adept at and interested in the day-to-day work that comes with the job).
  • Continuity Nod: One of Paradox's examples of an alternate reality is Gwen finding the Omnitrix. He also brings up an alternate timeline where Albedo remained transformed as Alien X for a whole year, referencing the events of the Vilgax Attacks video game.
  • Failed a Spot Check: After turning into Goop, Ben laments that it’s “the one time I wanted Rath”. But he clearly programmed Goop before he transformed, so he has no-one to blame but his own inattentiveness.
  • Foreshadowing/Vagueness Is Coming: "Beware Old George. Beware the creature from beyond." Ta-ta for now!
  • Future Self Reveal: After Ben's team and Ben 10,000 learn that Eon's henchmen are in fact the aforementioned versions of Ben who were hunted down by Eon, Eon reveals that he is another future version of Ben, and he intends to absorb Ben 10,000 and replace this timeline with one where he is the only Ben.
  • The Gadfly: Before departing, Ben 10,000 gives Ben access to some new aliens in addition to restoring Ben's lost ones. He justifies doing so by saying it'll annoy Azmuth.
  • Mood Whiplash: Professor Paradox gives Ben an ominous warning about future threats and then departs with a cheery, "So long!"
  • Mythology Gag: The alternate worlds Paradox describes match the Original Series episode “Gwen 10” and the DS version of Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Lampshaded as Ben 10,000 debuts time bending alien Clockwork to counter Eon’s abilities and when he proves capable of using one of Gwen’s spells.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The two Bens attempting to destroy the Hands of Armageddon ends up giving Eon a means to enter the prime universe.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Ben 10,000 was President of Earth long enough to repel the third Vilgaxian Invasion.
    • He also did something to get in Azmuth’s bad books, which is why he doesn’t unlock present Ben’s master control function. But he does give him every alien in the Omnitrix, plus a few new ones to be The Gadfly.
  • Shape Dies, Shifter Survives: Way Big and Swampfire are aged to dust by Eon. Ben pulls himself out of their remains both times, but Paradox and Ben 10,000 explain that he won't be able to transform into them afterward. Luckily, Ben 10,000 restores them with the DNA samples in his Ultimatrix.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Ben knows Paradox wouldn't have brought his future self here, unless there was a very serious problem to deal with.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: Both present and future Bens remember their encounter with the original Ben 10,000, even though the way things have turned out led to Ben becoming someone else as an adult.
  • Wham Shot: Who are all of Eon's mooks? Brainwashed alternate Bens!
