Dr. Viktor's body is found in an Eastern European country that's in the middle of a civil war. Ben, Gwen and Kevin are called by the king to deal with it, but soon discover it's more complicated than they thought.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: King Xarion is at first presented as The Good King, wanting to preserve his country through these trying times. However, he soon puts his mind in Dr. Viktor's body and reveals his intentions to destroy the rebellion with it.
  • Bittersweet Ending: King Xarion is defeated and Gyula's foot soldiers get freed, but the civil war still rages on. Since the matter that the team were called for gets resolved, they leave altogether.
  • The Bus Came Back: Two more aliens from the original series make their return in this episode: Wildmutt makes a brief cameo when King Xarion is cycling through Ben's aliens to find the right one that can transfer his mind into Viktor, while Ben later uses Heatblast to fight Xarion himself once he wakes up.
  • Call-Back:
    • Ben notes that he's learned his lesson from the events of Simple, and is willing to take the incident in Zarkovia much more seriously.
    • Dr. Viktor was mentioned by Alan as being one of Ultimate Kevin's many victims in Absolute Power, and Kevin mentions that he apparently threw Viktor into the Null Void after defeating him.
  • Evil Prince: Prince Gyula desires control over his own country and plans to use Dr. Viktor to achieve it.
  • Freudian Slip: Prince Gyula initially says that with Dr. Viktor as a weapon, everyone will bow to him. He then corrects himself, saying they will bow to his father, the king.
  • Grey-and-Gray Morality: The conflict at Zarkovia is shown to be this. The Evil Prince Gyula put his foot soldiers under mind control so they would do anything he says. The king puts his mind inside Dr. Viktor so he can destroy the rebellion. Ben, Gwen and Kevin are also unsure whether the rebellion is better or not.
  • Human Popsicle: At some point, Dr. Viktor was turned into this. Whether it was because of the Zarkovians themselves or something else entirely isn't explained.
  • Hypno Trinket: Gyula's foot soldiers wear helmets that put them under his control. By the end of the episode, they are freed.
  • The Igor: Gyula, and later King Viktor, are assisted by a rare female version.
  • Karma Houdini: Ben is unable to arrest King Viktor because while his body is a Transylian, the mind inside it is human, and thus outside Plumber jurisdiction.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Though Ben is at first willing to fight all of Zarkovia's forces to do the right thing, he quickly realizes that there's far too many of them to deal with, and gives in.
  • Noodle Incident: Very few details are given on how Ultimate Kevin stole Dr. Viktor's energy and threw him into the Null Void, and ever fewer are given on how he ended up as a Human Popsicle in Zarkovia.
  • Not Me This Time: When the trio discovers Dr. Viktor's frozen body, Kevin wonders aloud who could've subjected him to such a fate. Upon being met with Death Glares from Gwen and Big Chill, Kevin makes sure to clarify that Viktor was still alive when he stole his energy and threw him in the Null Void.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Ben gives one of these to celebrate Heatblast's return.
Heatblast: I'm fresh out of tanks, Your Heiny, but I am bringing the heat!
  • Running Gag: Kevin constantly bemoans that he’s missing out on a chance to get a teleporter pod.
  • Ruritania: Zarkovia is an Eastern European country that's ruled by a monarchy and is in the middle of a civil war.
