The first robot induced hallucination is always the creepiest.

I care about you both too much to keep putting you in danger. It's better this way.

A criminal is accidentally fused with one of Vilgax's drones and she turns into the perfect person to track down Ben.

Tropes:

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Rojo's claws are actually shown working against her as they break all the jewelry she had stolen.
  • Bilingual Bonus: "Rojo" means red in Spanish.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Rojo is defeated and arrested, but Ben can't shake Vilgax's threat to find him, and Max knows more about what's coming than he's letting on.
  • Blatant Lies: When Ben describes his contact with an octopus-like alien, Max looks worried but insists he's fine.
  • Bring It: While turned into Heatblast, Ben taunts Rojo. After she attacks him and fails, he lights the fuel oil she is standing on on fire.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Upgrade severs the connection between the drone and Rojo, making her human again. He mocks her by saying that it would be more appropriate to say "abnormal".
  • Description Cut: In the opening scene of the episode, Vilgax remarks that the drones might locate the Omnitrix but is unsure they will retrieve it, since whoever possesses it has proven to be a Worthy Opponent of "extreme danger and inspiring brilliance". The scene then cuts to Ben in a store, who accidentally topples a display of cookies on top of Gwen due to taking a box from the bottom.
  • Family-Friendly Firearms: Rojo has a laser shooting weapon that doesn't resemble any real one.
  • Fusion Dance:
    • Rojo fuses with one of Vilgax's drones. This gives her their laser weapons, a metal armor and sensors designed to track down the Omnitrix.
    • Upgrade also temporarily fuses with her. In this case, though, it just gives him his first sight of Vilgax.
  • Ground Punch: Four Arms does this to Rojo and her gang, knocking them out for a few seconds.
  • Hearing Voices: Rojo, thanks to being fused to one of Vilgax's drones, can hear him talking to her and only obeys him just so he doesn't kill her.
  • Infernal Retaliation: Heatblast tries to stop a rockslide from falling to a hospital, so he uses his fire thinking that it will be enough to melt the rocks. He just creates a rockslide on fire.
  • It's Not You, It's My Enemies: Non-romantic example from Ben towards Max and Gwen. He says that without the Omnitrix, none of this would have happened so he leaves them in the middle of the day to defeat Rojo by himself.
Ben's note: ...I care about you both too much to keep putting you in danger. It's better this way.
  • Kinda Busy Here: Max calls Gwen's cell phone while they are being attacked by Rojo. Max turns out to be helpful, though, as he inspires Ben to defeat her by turning into Upgrade.
  • Logical Weakness: Being half-machine, Rojo is susceptible to anything that would affect a machine. Ben defeats her with Upgrade's technopathy.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Gwen, a 10 year old girl, is shown to be strong and tough enough to take out a fully grown adult (and a Dark Action Girl at that) with one kick.
  • Smoke Screen: Heatblast evades Rojo's attack by hiding behind smoke. He then lights the fuel Rojo is standing on on fire.
  • We Will Meet Again: Ben uses Upgrade to try to subdue Rojo, but as a result, he's able to briefly be in contact with Vilgax.
Vilgax: Listen to every word: be afraid. You cannot run. You cannot hide from me. I will find you and when I will do, I will retrieve my Omnitrix and destroy you!
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Ben says that heroes don't hit girls which is why he stopped attacking the all-female gang at the beginning of the episode. Gwen tries to weaponize this by punching him, not expecting retaliation. Ben then punches her, saying that he is "not in hero mode".
