Tropes in this episode

  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: Ben intended to use Feedback to fight Yetta, but got Shocksquatch instead, leaving him no choice but to do this. He doesn't mind much, as he gets the chance to copy the same electromagnetism attacks that Yetta had been demonstrating.
  • Body Backup Drive: Robucket turns out to have more models on site, and gets uploaded to a new body in the end.
  • Deus Exit Machina: Kundo invokes this, getting all the Plumbers who are more likely to lose a fight to him in the base, while the rest were out chasing an alien criminal. As a result, Rook has to hold down the fort while Ben finds a way inside a station built to repel most of his aliens.
  • Enemy Mine: Rook realizes that Fistina would be his strongest ally in his limited options against Kundo. He refuses to do so, but Robucket huffs and opens her cell anyway.
  • Face Death with Dignity: While believing that they failed to save Earth this time, Ben and Rook smile grimly at each other and say It Has Been an Honor.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Even with most of its body broken, Robucket is able to roll down to the power core and unjam the winches, which means it gets crushed when the launch mechanism closes.
  • Just a Machine: Kundo one-ups this view by trashing Robucket and calling robots a pestilence. Robucket had spent the episode acting as a more expressive Expy of R2-D2, and proves self-aware enough to sacrifice itself to get the station into space.
  • Race Against the Clock: Kundo set the Plumber's base to explode, meaning they have to get the entire thing into space and detach the power core before it blows up North America.
  • Self-Serving Memory: Kundo thinks Rook intentionally doused him in the blastonium that nearly killed him, even though he actually attacked Rook first and was send flying by the recoil into a tank holding the substance when it was blocked. When Rook points out that’s not what happened, Kundo insists that it is.
  • Sequel Episode: To “Rook Tales”.
  • Toilet Teleportation: How Ben gets inside the Plumber's base; turning into Walkatrout, jumping in a toilet, and getting forced down by Skurd manifesting Fourarm's four arms.
