In front of a Biggie Box in Japan, Ben waits in an eternally long line for the release of Cyber Slammers, the brand new Sumo Slammers video game. Soon Ben has to save the whole store from Steam Smythe who wants to use the Cyber Slammers to destroy all technology.

This episode includes examples of:

  • Abnormal Ammo: Gwen throws a bunch of gacha toys at Steam Smythe to block up his giant magnet weapons.
  • Accidental Misnaming: Max is so caught up in his Gotchagotchi game that he accidentally calls Gwen “Gotcha” before correcting himself.
  • Big "NO!": Uncle Max’s dramatic reaction to his Gotchagotchi dying…again.
  • Blunt "No": Ben tries to ask Steam Smythe to just leave instead of having to fight him, to which he applies with an unamused “Um, no.”
  • Bookshelf Dominoes: Ben and Steam Smythe’s fight causes the shelves in the Biggie Box store to get knocked over in this way.
  • Comical Overreacting: The thought of having to import the new video game if the store runs out of copies sends Ben into hysterics.
Ben: You might as well ask me to roll into a ditch and expire!
  • Cutting Back to Reality: As Gwen’s changing into her Lucky Girl costume, it’s portrayed at first like a Sailor Moon-esque Transformation Sequence, However, the scene then cuts back to what’s really happening which is Gwen just spinning around and humming the Lucky Girl theme song.
  • Eyedscreen: This shot occurs when Ben fears he might have to import the game, emphasizing the melodrama of his reaction.
  • Faux Horrific: Ben and Gwen's reaction when Steam Smythe tells them he pre-ordered the game through "snail mail".
  • Fictional Video Game: The “Cyber Slammers” video game Ben is determined to get.
  • Fish Eyes: Ben gets these when he’s freaking out over how long he’s been waiting in line.
  • Hold Up Your Score: The Biggie Box employees all hold up 9’s when Ben transforms into Humungousaur and then 10’s when Gwen changes into her Lucky Girl costume.
  • Hollywood Magnetism: Steam Smythe uses two giant magnets to wreak havoc at a Japanese electronics store.
  • Hypocritical Humor: After cutting the line and sneaking into the store, Ben criticizes those who got to enter early because they pre-ordered and asks what happened to the honesty of people waiting in line. Gwen is quick to point out his hypocrisy.
  • Mini-Mecha: Steam Smythe turns one of the Cyber Slammer robots into this with magnets as weapons in order to destroy all of the technology in the store.
  • Shady Scalper: Ben plans to buy multiple copies of the Cyber Slammers game in order to get the collectibles it comes with and then sell his extra copies at a higher rate to unsuspecting kids back home.
  • Shamed by a Mob: The shoppers in the Biggie Box react in horror when Steam Smythe reveals Ben & Gwen to be line-cutters, going so far as to point angrily at them while chanting, "SHAME."
  • Retraux: Steam Smythe's explanation is presented as a silent film, much to Gwen and Gwen's annoyance.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Uncle Max is obsessed with playing with his "Gotchagotchi" in this episode, a reference to the Tamagotchi virtual pet game.
    • Ben's transformation into Humungousaur pays homage to kaiju films, especially Godzilla emerging from Tokyo Bay.
    • Gwen's transformation into Lucky Girl is inspired by the transformation sequences of magical girl anime, in particular Sailor Moon.
    • Ben's transformation into XLR8 pays homage to the original Power Rangers while he says “Form of…XLR8!”
    • Gwen hints to Ben to turn into XLR8 with the phrase "catching my Tokyo drift", a play on the common phrase "catching my drift" and reference to the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
    • The way Steam Smythe is defeated is the same way Team Rocket always is in Pokémon.
  • Slow "NO!": Ben's reaction when Steam Smyth throws a bunch of Cyber Slammers games in the air. Luckily, Ben's able to catch them before they hit the ground.
  • There Was a Door: Ben uses a high window to sneak into the store and face plants when he lands. Then Gwen follows after him…through the door underneath that was unlocked.
  • Ticket-Line Campout: The episode begins with the Tennysons camped out in line to buy the new Cyber Slammers Game.
  • A Twinkle in the Sky: Steam Smythe is defeated when his steam-powered mech blows up and sends him shooting through the ceiling and into the sky, ending in a twinkling star à la Team Rocket.
  • Vaudeville Hook: Ben and Gwen get dragged away by hooks when they interrupt Steam Smythe’s old-timey flashback.
  • Villain of the Week: The Tennysons have to fight the last person they’d expect to see at a high-tech Tokyo electronics store: Steam Smythe.
  • When I Was Your Age...: Steam Smythe reminisces on the good old days when kids would entertain themselves by working factory jobs.
