Beavis and Butt-Head go to a military base and mistake the virtual pilot seats of drone planes on an Afghan mission for a video game.

Tropes

  • Adults Are Useless: None of the staff members keep a close eye on Beavis and Butt-Head, nor do they notice them gaining access to the drone control center and messing around inside.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: The drone soldier when he's being dragged away by security:
Soldier: Why?! Why are you doing this?!
  • Artistic License – Military: Not only does the military accept dropouts and delinquents (according to one officer), but they were too incompetent to notice the duo sneaking into a restricted area and piloting a drone.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: The drone soldier is immediately distracted by the talk about ice cream in the hallway just as he was about to enter the room.
  • Brutal Honesty: Played for Laughs. Lt. Decker, the officer in charge of guiding Van Driessen and his students, keeps bluntly admitting that the military specializes in using lethal force against their enemies (even when they're unarmed) and accepts dropouts and delinquents.
Lt. Decker: The army does have a popular phrase: "Eat lead."
  • Didn't Think This Through: The drone soldier never considered having the door locked or guarded to keep out trespassers.
  • Driven to Suicide: A student at Highland High committed suicide, but Beavis and Butt-Head don't know who it is, only that it wasn't Daria because she moved away.
  • Everybody Has Standards: Butt-Head gets uncomfortable when he starts to realize Beavis was molested.
  • Failed a Spot Check:
    • None of the officers pay any attention to the duo playing about in the drone control center. Even the drone soldier became distracted before he could enter.
    • In their "search" for prostitutes, Beavis and Butt-Head end up missing an actual one.
    • Van Driessen also doesn't notice Beavis and Butt-Head being missing from the group, even when their tour was over.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Butt-Head assumes that the reason his station wasn't able to shoot anything was because it was "the kids' version" of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Even if Beavis and Butt-Head destroyed the drones, the drone soldier who got beat up and arrested, quite frankly, deserved it. His gross negligence and stupidity in leaving the station unlocked and unguarded for any random idiot to just wander in is the whole reason our heroes were able to mess with the drones in the first place.
  • Lethally Stupid:
    • Beavis and Butt-Head end up causing over millions of dollars worth of property damage from playing with the drones, including destroying the school bus by accident.
    • Likewise, the drone soldier was such an idiot himself that he left the area unsupervised, allowing the duo to access it and bring about the aforementioned chain of events.
  • Lethal Negligence: The drone soldier leaves his station so he can enjoy cake and ice cream with the rest of the crew but doesn't even bother to have it locked to keep out trespassers. Accordingly, Beavis and Butt-Head manage to break in and gain access to the drones, creating widespread havoc. He doesn't return to the station until after the duo had already left; he gets arrested at the scene.
  • Never Learned to Read: Beavis and Butt-Head misread "Drone Control" as "Drain Central", which means bathroom.
Beavis: That makes more sense than calling it a bathroom because it's where you "drain your lizard".
  • Never My Fault: The drone soldier is genuinely surprised that his station was broken into, even though he left it unsupervised for over a half an hour. He also doesn't understand why he is getting arrested (albeit for different reasons), despite his actions of criminal negligence.
  • Police Are Useless: The security guards never catch on to Beavis and Butt-Head's shenanigans until the last minute, and even then, they miss them.
  • Police Brutality: The drone soldier is manhandled by security guards for the damages caused to the drones.
  • Poor Communication Kills:
    • When Beavis and Butt-Head ask one of the officers where the bathroom was, he instead scoffs at their bad joke ("I need to pee all I can pee."), resulting in the two entering the drone control center by mistake.
    • When our heroes see the door that reads "Drone Control", they misread it as "Drain Central" and assume it leads to the bathroom.
  • Rape as Backstory: According to the musical video, Beavis was given lemonade by a grief counselor and woke up under the freeway, being told that if he tried telling anybody, they wouldn't believe him. Too bad Beavis is too stupid to realize the implications of what happened to him.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: The drone soldier was held accountable for the drone attacks. While he didn't commence the attacks, his criminal negligence was what instigated them.
  • Running Gag: Van Driessen trying to make a positive statement about the military, only for the officer to keep proving him wrong.
  • Shaped Like Itself: Beavis' comment when he accesses the drone.
Beavis: I think this is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas but with airplanes.
  • The Slacker: The drone soldier was paying bills online instead of checking for terrorist activity (as he didn't see any for the past couple of minutes), then leaves his post to enjoy cake and ice cream (without having the door locked, which naturally leads to trouble).
  • Small Role, Big Impact: The drone soldier is only in the episode for three scenes, yet his grossly irresponsible actions are what set up the plot of the duo hijacking the drones and wreaking havoc.
  • Stacy's Mom: Butt-Head starts moving the controller up and down (resembling masturbation), saying he is "fantasizing about Beavis' mom."
  • Swiss-Cheese Security: The drone control center was left unlocked and unguarded, allowing Beavis and Butt-Head to trespass.
  • There's No Kill like Overkill:
    • According to Lt. Decker, the army kills their targets in their sleep to "give them the element of surprise".
    • The security guards pound the drone soldier several times in the stomach, even though he is already unarmed and defenseless.
  • Unintentionally Karmic: Beavis and Butt-Head destroy the drones, causing significant property damage, and then leave the room to enjoy cake and ice cream. The drone soldier ends up taking the fall and being arrested as a result. It's highly deserved considering the soldier himself was too negligent to prevent the fiasco from happening by simply locking the door.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The drone soldier left the facility unattended so that he could enjoy cake and ice cream, which allowed the two to break in and create widespread havoc with the drones.
