Recap / Beavis And Butthead S 8 E 2 Crying

Go To

After an onion slice causes Beavis to cry, Butt-Head mocks him for it.

Crying:

  • Apathetic Citizens: Absolutely nobody gives a crap that Beavis supposedly cried but Beavis and Butt-Head themselves. Not even Stewart.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Beavis doesn't hold back when Butt-Head reminds everybody that he cried, at one point needing to be held back by Buzzcut.
  • Flash Forward: Turns out Butt-Head mocked Beavis for eighty years until they're both old men in a retirement home. And then Butt-Head dies!
  • Hollywood Heart Attack: Elderly Butt-Head has one of these after mocking Beavis for crying one last time.
  • It's Okay to Cry: Van Dreissen reassures Beavis it's ok to "be touched."
    Butt-Head: Yeah, Beavis was touched!
    Beavis: Shut up!
    • Later, Butt-Head mocks Beavis with this when Beavis tries to beat him up in gym class.
  • Let Me at Him!: Beavis says this word for word while Buzzcut restrains him.
  • Men Don't Cry:
Butt-head: Woah, you're crying! You're crying like a girl! Heh, heh, you're moved!
  • Mistaken for Brooding: Because they were watching a sad scene from The Bachelor when Beavis "cried" Butt-Head assumes it was for this reason.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Butt-Head reminds Beavis at every opportunity that he cried. Even on his deathbed!
  • Onion Tears: Beavis finds an onion in his chili dog, which irritates his eyes.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Beavis is ready to beat Butt-Head's ass after he mocks him for crying in gym class, and is only restrained by Buzzcut. Butt-Head doesn't take the hint.
Buzzcut: You will beat the crap out of Butt-Head on your own time!
  • Running Gag: Butt-Head to bring up that Beavis was crying, and Beavis to tell him to shut up.
  • Skewed Priorities: Buzzcut has no problem with Beavis trying to beat up Butt-Head, only on school property.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Van Dreissen tries to tell the class about Atticus's speech from To Kill a Mockingbird before Butt-Head interrupts him.
    • "It's alright to cry, crying takes the sad out of you." seems to be inspired by a similar song by Rosy Grier.
    • Beavis wonders if that "slut from Sex and the City" would become a mannequin that comes to life, only for Butt-Head to tell him to "quit changing the subject."
