  • Big "WHAT?!": When Bruce thanks him for "volunteering" to handle Baffler, Tim (who only mocked the idea of them needing to deal with the Riddler's second-rate copy) yells, "What?"
  • Comically Small Bribe: Upon being stuck with Baffler, Tim tries to bribe Dick with twenty dollars to take the case off his hands. Not only are they the wards of one of the DC universe's wealthiest individuals, but also Tim has a sizeable trust fund of his own from his biological family.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Stephanie's reaction to Kite Man trying to make himself her nemesis resembles a girl turning down a pushy guy's romantic advances. She even says, "No means no."
  • The Dreaded: Played for Laughs; The Bat family will fight the Joker, Two-Face, the Penguin, or any other member of Gotham's rogues...but they all hate fighting Condiment King. He's not that difficult a villain to take, really, but anyone who fights him ends up covered in food dressings and (according to Nightwing) smelling like mustard for a while. Even Batman hates fighting him.
  • Fist Bump: Tim fist-bumps Stephanie as Bruce grudgingly accepts her insistence that she's not handling Kite Man.
  • Got Volunteered: Tim derides Baffler as a poor Riddler knock-off, and Bruce thanks him for volunteering to deal with Baffler's latest scheme, to loud protests. However, this ends up working in Tim's favor since he won't be fighting Condiment King.
  • Noodle Incident: The last time Dick fought Condiment King, his costume smelled like mustard for three weeks.
  • Not So Above It All: Bruce spends the entire comic berating the kids for complaining about having to fight D-list villains... only for him to mutter to himself that he is very glad that worked because he really didn't want to deal with Condiment King himself.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: Bruce assigns Stephanie to deal with Kite Man, and she refuses with an emphatic, "Hard. Pass."
  • You Owe Me: Dick tries to play this card with Cass to get out of fighting Condiment King. It doesn't work.
