While in a fight with Chemo, Batman is infected with his toxic goop, requiring the assistance of the Atom and AQUAMAN, who must make a perilous journey to the center of the Bat!

- Achievements in Ignorance: AQUAMAN's fish-summoning powers work on antibodies. Somehow.
- Borrowed Catchphrase: After snapping and just punching the enemy, Atom shouts, "OUTRAGEOUS!"
- Bring It: The Brain seems to be building up to this when saying it's down to him and Batman now. Of course, neither one of them can actually get up to fight.
- Death Glare: Atom shoots AQUAMAN a vicious one after having to dumb down his science for him.
- Don't Think, Feel: With Atom saying every plan he can think of having messy results, AQUAMAN says it's time to just do this.
- "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: Atom and AQUAMAN's side of the plot, as they try to save Batman from the toxic infection.
- French Jerk: The Brain, complete with ze obligatory outrageous exaggerated French aksent!
- Kneel Before Zod: The Brain hijacks every TV in Bialya and tells them to kneel before him.
- The Man Behind the Man: The Brain is the one who's directed Chemo to steal a nuclear missile, so he can hold Bialya hostage.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Batman's continued efforts to stop Chemo leads to further toxic exposure, which means AQUAMAN and Atom have even more powerful toxic cells to contend with.
- Non-Indicative Name: AQUAMAN nicknames Platelet as such, despite Atom trying to point out it isn't actually a platelet.
- Not So Above It All: AQUAMAN points out that, for all of his scientific demeanor, Atom ultimately resorted to a less rational way of solving the problem by punching whatever he could.
- Not That Kind of Doctor: AQUAMAN calls up Dr. Ryan Choi for assistance when Batman catches a case of "bilge", even though he tries to point out he's not that kind of doctor.Atom: You don't know what kind of doctor I am, do you?AQUAMAN: A hero doctor, through and through!Atom: A physicist!
- The Patient Has Left the Building: Atom warns Batman before he and AQUAMAN shrink down not to move, as that will exacerbate his already bad condition. The minute they do, Batman reveals he had no intention of complying, and as Atom warned, his actions do make things worse.
- Rage Breaking Point: Platelet getting ripped apart causes Atom to snap. He forgets the plan and just starts punching everything in sight like crazy.
- Stealth Insult: Upon seeing a massive gathering of toxic cells.Atom: We're not going to be able to beat them head on.
AQUAMAN: Not the way you fight, no. - Technobabble: Atom tries explaining how his device will find the source of the infection plaguing Batman, but has to dumb it down for AQUAMAN's sake (and his reaction suggests even that isn't dumbed down enough).Atom: This... "doohickey" beeps when the "cooties" are near.AQUAMAN: I... ah, cooties, yes...
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: While trying to take down Baby Face, Plastic Man and Elongated Man repeatedly snipe at each other and argue over who Batman prefers working with.
- Tempting Fate:
- The Brain mocks Batman for being too sick to even stand properly. When Batman falls down, he ends up knocking the Brain over, as well.
- Eventually, the Brain is able to get back up, and he boasts that this is the end. However, with the seed cell destroyed, Batman is back in fighting shape just in time and quickly ends the fight.
- This Cannot Be!: The Brain over his plan being foiled. He does it again later when Batman recovers.
- This Is Gonna Suck: In the face of even greater danger than expected, AQUAMAN says he hopes Atom has a plan for this.
- We Need a Distraction: In the face of bad odds, AQUAMAN opts to be this, while Atom tries to destroy the seed cell.
- Weaksauce Weakness: The Brain may be as smart as his name implies, but his tin-can body has a problem if it falls over, since he can't right himself.
- You Fool!: In frustration over a heroic one-liner, the Brain shouts at Batman, "Die, you fleshy fool!"
