The mutated Big Time returns, and Terry tries bringing his former friend back from the brink.

Tropes:

  • Character Development: Terry finally overcomes his guilt with Big Time. When Bruce tries to console him, Terry simply acknowledges he "outgrew" his friend.
  • Disney Villain Death: Big Time falls into the mist below a bridge. Given he never appears again, it's doubtful he survived.
  • Not So Similar: When Bruce tries to console Terry about being unable to help Big Time reform, he low-key references that he knows a thing or two about being unable to help a villainous friend (Two Face). In turn, Terry low-key brushes off the idea Big Time was ever even a 'friend' with "I just outgrew him". If anything, Two Face occasionally made efforts to turn over a new leaf. Big Time, on the other hand, wasted all chances at redemption with betrayal and outright refusal to ever change. And Harvey Dent was a good friend before he became Two Face, while Charlie Bigelow was already a bad influence long before he even became Big Time.
  • Post-Support Regret: At the end of the episode, after realizing how amoral Big Time truly was, Terry finally lets go of his guilt and states that he has 'outgrew' Big Time.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Terry sees Big Time as this, never having truly grown (so to speak) beyond the kid with a petty goal to become a big-time criminal. Not helped that when he 'kidnaps' Terry, he tries bribing him with what looks to be a party-like setting filled with "everything [they] ever wanted as kids". Complete with bowls of candy and an arcade game.
  • The Starscream: Big Time escaped alongside a mobster named The Major, and starts out serving as his top goon. However, he feigns regret and takes advantage of his "friendship" with Terry in order to get The Major arrested, just so he could take over the Major's gang.
  • Stealth Pun: Terry's claim that he 'outgrew' Big Time lends credit to the old expression "be the bigger man".
