• Hammerspace: Barney's closet is introduced in this episode, from which he brings out a pair of shoes he can't tie.
• Happy Dance: "Happy Dancin'" is very much this. Barney, decked out with a top-hat and cane, dances up a storm in his tap dancing shoes.
• Jack of All Trades: Discussed and subverted in regards to Barney. Min claims that when Baby Bop grows up, she'll be able to everything "just like Barney." The purple guy admits there is one thing he can't do: he can't tie shoes, as his arms are too short.
• Maurice Chevalier Accent: Barney goes full out Chevalier during "Hello, Goodbye," even mimicking his "hon hon" laugh.
