Recap / Bar Rescue S 4 E 47 Land Of The Beer And Home Of The Misbehaved

Go To

Expanding her business to a downtown sports bar, a successful St. Louis restaurant owner risks losing everything as her out-of-control nephew and unqualified manager run the bar and her livelihood into the ground.

Episode Tropes:

  • The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes: Andrea runs a successful restaurant but her bar is failing. This is due in part to the restaurant's manager suddenly quitting and Andrea having to split time between the bar and the restaurant because of that.

  • Downer Ending: The "Ten Weeks Later" portion reveals that Pastimes on 4th only grossed $15,376 in food and beverage sales (which Andrea blamed on other sports bars), Cameron no longer works at the bar, which only opens for private events. Eventually, Pastimes on 4th closed. [1]

  • Hypocrite: Kim calls out Cameron for using his relationship with the owner to get away with his misbehavior. Cut to Kim drinking from a trucker cup despite Andrea, the owner and Kim's friend, repeatedly telling her not to, and it's later shown that she made no effort to learn anything in her two years as a manager.
  • Lethal Chef: Due to not being trained, Anthony the cook left nacho cheese out that was 104 degrees. The temperature danger zone is 40 degrees to 140 degrees with anything in the middle risking food poisoning. And something in the fridge was clearly petrified.

  • Nepotism: It's pretty clear from the beginning that bartender Cameron only got away with getting drunk on the job and his immaturity because Andrea, the owner, is his aunt.

  • Prone to Tears: Kim cries when Cameron openly mocks her during recon, when Jon dresses her down for her own incompetence, and later during the stress test before she quits.
