The first episode of Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger. When an invading alien force from the parallel dimension of Dino Earth, the Invasion Garden Evolian, arrive on our world it's up to the Dino Earth Warrior, Asuka, to recruit three people who've inherited the full power of the Dino Guts (an ancient lifeforce that flows through all living beings but that only few can make the full use of) to combat the Evolian's threat.

    Plot

The series opens with Tyranno's foot stomping the ground and forming the logo, before cutting to the actual episode where a black-clad warrior is seen riding his Raptor mount hurriedly towards a portal to our world, while being chased by a giant spaceship. As the spaceship unleashes a group of Mooks to fight the warrior, the latter transforms and fights them all off before a stray shot from the spaceship detransforms and damages his transformation device and raptor mount. Cornered and out of options after losing a special set of capsules, the warrior jumps into the portal and succeeds in crossing over.

Meanwhile on Earth a giant mechanical Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops and Pteranodon attack Tokyo mercilessly before vanishing mysteriously, as the news of the monster attack spread a biker woman, a young woman, a chiropractic and an old man feel as if they have some connection to these new faces while a young man taking care of his niece also feels the connection but winds up hospitalized when he saves a stray dog from the T rex's attack. At the same time, the warrior lands on Tokyo and witnesses the attack, realizing he's got to do something he seeks the warriors that will become the Abarangers. He meets up with the woman and old man, with the same voice that guided the warrior having spoken to them telepathically through the "Dino Guts" they all have, here they introduce themselves with the warrior revealing he's called Asuka, the woman's called Emiri Imanaka (though she tells the others they can call her Emi-pon) and the old man's called Ryunosuke Sugishita (though Emiri takes to calling him Suke-san to his distress).

Then the mastermind behind the ship and the rogue dinosaurs is revealed with him leading the efforts of the invading force of the Evolien to attack "Another Earth" (our world) and destroy it for his group's prosperity. As Asuka hands Emi and Suke the devices to transform into AbareYellow and AbareBlue the attack resumes and they prepare to fight only to fail when their bodies can't handle the transformation. It is then that the biker woman and chiropractic arrive to help, being capable of actually transforming into the Abaranger and freeing the Triceratops and Pteranodon Bakuryuu from the control of the Evolien. However this success is cut off by the still-brainwashed Tyrannosaurus attacking forcing the other Bakuryuu to hold him off and things get even worse when the master of the attack, Geilton, arrives to kill the warriors, their allies and especially Asuka. It is then that the young man, revealed to be called Ryoga, arrives after recovering in the hospital to become the last warrior and almost gets eaten by the T. rex but miraculously survives and transforms into AbaRed freeing the last Bakuryuu from the Evolien's control and regaining the full power of the three warriors; enraged, Geilton unleashes the previously seen Barmia soldiers against the Abarangers but they are all beaten and subsequently the three warriors join together to defeat him as well, forcing him to retreat. As the heroes celebrate a mysterious colossal figure arrives and everyone prepares to confront it when it turns out to be a colossal Brachiosaurus Bakuryuu.

  • Action Prologue: The episode opens with Asuka being chased by the Anomalogaris, transforming into AbareBlack to fight a group of Barmia soldiers and subsequently losing the ability to transform when hit by a stray blast which causes him to drop the Bakuryuu egg pods and then jumping quickly towards the interdimensional portal to catch up to the Anomalogaris entering our world.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Instead of using the proper introductory titles at the beginning of the episode, the episode instead opens up with a quick title card followed by an action scene of Asuka fighting the Evolien's forces on Dino Earth as he prepares to escape to Another Earth to seek out the Abarangers, the Abaranger theme song does play as the background music, however.
  • Cliffhanger: As the Abaranger celebrate their victory over Geilton, a mysterious figure appears in the horizon threatening them and ending the episode as they prepare to face it.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Barmia are easily mowed down by both AbareBlack and the three core Abarangers.
  • Downer Beginning: The episode opens up with Asuka losing his ability to transform, the Bakuryuu in their dormant state and his mount is wounded all before he makes a hasty dive towards the portal.
  • Heroic Second Wind: Right after Geilton has kicked their asses in their normal states, the three Abarangers gain their Super Modes and return the favor wounding the evil warrior and even destroying parts of his armor to his horror.
  • Refused by the Call: Emiri and Ryunosuke are actually the first people picked to become AbareYellow and AbareBlue thanks to their Dino Guts, unfortunately their bodies cannot handle the transformation and thus have to relinquish their powers to Ranru and Yukito, who are actually able to wield them without strain.
  • The Stinger: The mysterious entity approaching the heroes is a colossal Brachiosaurus Bakuryuu.
