The Avengers and Black Panther travel to where the Shadow Council imprisoned Black Widow, but then need to rescue themselves from the island's inhabitants.
Tropes:
- All According to Plan: Getting captured and brought to Wakanda was Killmonger's plan, since it lets him meet Bask and have her stage a coup.
- Challenging the Chief: Bask challenges T'Challa for the crown of Wakanda, which as a royal she is allowed to do, and by law T'Challa cannot actually refuse.
- Covered in Gunge: Nat reveals herself by splattering the plant-monster threatening the boys, covering them in plant juices.
- Damsel out of Distress: Not surprisingly, Nat had already freed herself by the time the Avengers show up. In fact, everyone else's showing up scuppered her escape plan, because it means she has to rescue them.
- Mood Whiplash: Nat's rescued, and the Shadow Council's all locked up. Everything's good, right? Well, no. T'Challa comes home to find Bask and the Shadow Council are trying to take over Wakanda.
- Poor Communication Kills: Everyone assumes Tony's playing the More Expendable Than You card, but actually Tony had no intention of sacrificing his life. They just don't give him the chance to properly explain.
