Tsuyoshi: After the Nōto unleashed my desires, I became a Hitotsu-Ki once again.
Meanwhile, Momoi-san obtained the power to evolve into GolDon Momotaro.
I'm just so...

Despite the evidence staring them in the face, Taro and the revived Sonoi are unwilling to admit that they now resemble each other in all but name and appearance. Tsuyoshi, having turned into a Hitotsu-ki for the second time, falls into depression.

Meanwhile, Tsubasa, who is convinced that Miho is his long-lost girlfriend Natsumi, asks to have Miho's home-cooked meal at Tsuyoshi's house. Tsubasa has mixed feelings at the sight of Tsuyoshi and Miho looking so happy. However, when Tsubasa leaves Tsuyoshi's house, Miho suddenly takes off after him...

Tropes

  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: Natsumi reveals she does not remember anything beyond her kidnapping, including the time she spent as "Miho". Sonoi also does not remember having Taro's personality once his original self returns.
  • The Bus Came Back: In a sense. Taro ends up restoring Sonoi's original personality, properly bringing him back for the first time since episode 27.
    • The episode ends with Haruka's aunt establishing herself as Tsubasa's interrogator.
  • Call-Back: Tsubasa gets to use the home of Makoto Tanabe (from episode 17) as his hideout in return for his help in said episode.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Tsubasa in an interrogation room, with Yuriko introducing herself to him.
  • Downer Ending: Tsubasa gets arrested by the police, courtesy of Tsuyoshi after he catches him with Miho.
  • Genre Savvy: Subverted. Tsubasa has spent the past few episodes feeling out the Mistaken Identity issue instead of forcing it and immediately tries to explain himself the day after Natsumi's persona returns, but chooses the worst-conceivable wording while doing so; contributing to Tsuyoshi's antagonism by disregarding the very notion that Miho ever existed.
  • Gratuitous English: The episode title is actually spoken in English in the preview at the end of the previous episode.
  • Implausible Deniability: Taro and Sonoi insist they’re nothing alike… saying the exact same sentence at the same time.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: The Nōto dress up to the nines all to eat out at an oden stand.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero:
    • Downplayed; the oden chef already become Tokusou-Ki beforehand, but Taro's Brutal Honesty — once again — triggered his desires, causing him to transform back into a Hitotsu-Ki.
    • While Tsubasa does attempt to reconcile with Tsuyoshi and makes clear he intends to look into why this all happened, his defense when pressed amounts to the idea that Miho never existed; doing the salaryman's instability zero favors. Then again, Tsuyoshi had already conspired to get the man arrested beforehand.
Tsubasa: There is no Miho! She never existed to begin with!
  • Poor Communication Kills: Double subverted. Late in the episode Tsubasa and Tsuyoshi do get to talk about Natsumi/Miho and the former does try to smooth things over, but Tsuyoshi had used the occasion to entrap Tsubasa and turn him over to the police.
  • Put on a Bus: Jiro doesn't join in the fight due to the injuries he got fighting Murasame last episode.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Jiro is nursing his injuries while the main trio of Donbrothers don't have as much screen time, leaving the major focus of the episode to be between Tsubasa and Tsuyoshi's conflict.
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: Sonoi's first time eating oden was impactful enough for him to revert to his old stoic self, with the red plumes in his hair gone and his eyes, tie, and handkerchief on his suit turning blue.
  • Three Lines, Some Waiting: Plot A focuses on Tsubasa and Natsumi supposedly "reuniting", while Tsuyoshi becomes riddled with jealousy to the point that he sells out Tsubasa to the police. Plot B focuses on the Donbrothers (sans Tsuyoshi and Tsubasa for obvious reasons) and the Noto trio trying to point out to Taro and Sonoi that they are essentially carbon copies of each other. A minor Plot C has Jiro still recovering from his injuries from his fight with Murasame.
  • The Unsmile: There's something to be said about Tsuyoshi's wide, toothy grin while Tsubasa is being arrested by the authorities.
  • Trigger Phrase: "If you say so" was a phrase commonly said by Tsubasa and Natsumi to each other during their relationship. When Tsubasa uttered those words in front of Miho, it ended up causing her Natsumi personality to re-emerge.
  • Urine Trouble: Narrowly averted; after GolDon Onitaijin makes it debut, Tokusou-king (who is modeled on a dog) approaches on all fours and lifts its leg, only to be kicked away by Inu Brother.
  • Wham Episode: Tsuyoshi calls the police on Tsubasa for apparently "stealing" Miho.
  • Wham Shot: Tsubasa waits at the interrogation room as an officer comes in, revealing it to be Yuriko, Haruka's aunt.
  • What You Are in the Dark: When given a choice between hearing Tsubasa out and his own happiness, Tsuyoshi gladly takes the latter, selling out Tsubasa to the police.
