After the Panzer Squad comes to Pieck and Galliard's rescue, he asks how they knew they were in trouble. Pieck reveals that she figured out that they were being led into a trap almost immediately and when she was hugging one of her crew she was telling him to get ready to rescue them.
After the War Hammer Titan gets back up from being hit at its nape, Eren theorizes that it is generated and controlled differently from other Titan Shifters. After taking a step back from the battlefield, realizing that the Titan was generated from the feet upwards rather than the nape, and seeing a string leading into the ground, he concludes that the main body is just a puppet and finds Lara Tybur inside a crystal controlling the War Hammer Titan.
Just as the War Hammer Titan has Eren at her mercy, Mikasa and the rest of the Survey Corps make their entrance, with the former firing eight Thunder Spears into its nape and the latter mowing down the Marleyan military.
When the Jaw Titan tries to eat Eren from behind, Levi makes his entrance and cuts open the Jaw's mouth preventing it from being able to chomp down on Eren's nape.
Lara had the perfect opportunity to kill Eren after decapitating his Titan and forcing his human body out of it, but instead of just getting it over with, she gives him a chance to say any last words he might have. This ends up being the opening Eren needed to signal Mikasa to save him.
Averted with Eren himself, as he loses no time and starts attacking the War Hammer Titan while it's still forming, and loses the momentum only when it's able to fight back regardless.
The Bus Came Back: Mikasa, Levi, and the rest of the Survey Corps appear for the first time this season.
Cold Sniper: Sasha is now this for the Survey Corps, after the four years time-skip.
Cruel and Unusual Death: Zofia is crushed by debris after Eren's transformation, and Udo is trampled by a crowd of panicked diplomats and soldiers running for their lives.
Everybody Knew Already: In a Flashback, it is revealed that Willy and the military are already aware that Eren will attack them during the Festival. Willy was willing to die a martyr so his message will take effect.
Face Death with Dignity: General Calvi calmly accepts his fate as Eren is about to crush him and the other military personnel sitting with him.
Foreshadowing: As Eren himself notes the fact that the War Hammer Titan was generated from the feet up, as opposed to the nape like every other Titan Shifter, is a big clue that the way to defeat it is not via attacking the nape.
Given Name Reveal: Combined with Named by the Adaptation. The "Currently Publicly Available Information" bit from the episode reveals that Willy's sister's name is Lara.
Morphic Resonance: The War Hammer Titan subverts this, as it has a feminine face but it's body takes the form of a lean, bald humanoid with a masculine body shape.
Oh, Crap! / This Cannot Be!: The Jaw Titan gets this in a big way as he faces down the Survey Corps and feels the pure Killing Intent emanating from them and from Levi in particular. Galliard thought being a Titan made him invincible. But the Survey Corps are Titan killers, and at this point in the saga are very, very good at what they do.
Remote Body: The War Hammer Titan can't be killed by attacking the nape since Lara can control the Titan from a crystal cocoon that is connected to the Titan body by a string. At the end of the episode, Eren discovers this, breaks off the string connecting the Titan to the crystal thus severing the connection, and is able to get his hands on Lady Tybur's cocoon.
There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Mikasa enters the fray carrying eight Thunder Spears on her person and fires all of them at once into the War Hammer Titans nape. This is justified since it took even more spears to take down the Armored Titan and, as shown, blowing up the nape isn't enough to beat the War Hammer Titan anyway.
Spikes of Doom: Lady Tybur can create these with her Titan power to pin the Attack Titan's feet to the ground. She can also create a giant spike that impales Eren's Titan when he's about to smash her Titan's nape.
Spontaneous Weapon Creation : This is one of the War Hammer Titan's powers, which makes it a formidable opponent. Over the course of the episode, Lara creates the war hammer that gives the Titan it's name, but also a sword, a crossbow, and a whip.
What the Hell, Hero?: Mikasa gives a tearful one to Eren pointing out that he murdered innocent people and children in his rampage and that it is not something that can be forgiven.
