Eren and Annie brawl it out, wrecking a good portion of Stohess District in the process. Annie is finally apprehended, but crystallizes herself to avoid being interrogated.
Tropes:
- All for Nothing: Annie was defeated, but managed to encase herself in apparently indestructible crystal, preventing the Survey Corps from getting any information out of her.
- Bittersweet Ending: To the Female Titan arc. The Survey Corps finally discovers who the Female Titan is and apprehend her, but at very high cost in both military and civilians. Annie encases herself in crystal too, so in the end they learn very little.
- Conveniently Empty Building: Nope. The sudden Titan battle in a populated area causes many civilian casualties and destroyed buildings.
- Oh, Crap!: The Female Titan, as she falls with no way to stop herself (and with a very pissed off Eren waiting for her below).
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: A deathless example. The Female Titan is trying to climb the wall and escape when Mikasa swings in and severs her fingers. Then Mikasa lands on her face to look her in the eye and tells her, "Annie. Fall." And so, she falls, and is soundly defeated.
- The Stinger: A piece of the Wall falls out from where the Female Titan was climbing, revealing what appears to be a Colossal-sized Titan within the wall.
