Recap / Atlantis 2 E 5 The Day Of The Dead

Go To

In the Necropolis, Pasiphae pulls out the arrow Ariadne shot into her, and carves magical letters into a nearby sarcophagus. As she carves the letters, a mummified hand breaks out of the sarcophagus.

Ariadne, Hercules, Pythagoras, and the pilgrims search for Jason. Dion approaches, but it turns out that he has become one of the undead. Dion’s corpse bites Diagoras, one of the pilgrims, and the group is forced to flee as an undead army attacks them.

Jason wakes up on the lower level of the Necropolis and sees Medea lying unconscious close by. He puts his sword to her throat, but then decides to leave.

Orpheus explains to the group that the king who built the Necropolis had his entire army buried here so they could protect him in the afterlife. Pasiphae must have used necromancy to animate the dead.

Jason saves Medea from a group of undead soldiers. She is surprised he did this for her, since they are enemies.

Diagoras’s wound is quickly becoming infected. He ends up becoming a zombie. Before he can be dispatched, he manages to bite Eurydice.

Jason breaks his leg during a battle with the undead soldiers. Medea uses her magic to heal his leg. The two of them debate the sides they are on. Medea says the reason she works for Pasiphae is that Pasiphae is the only person who has ever treated her with kindness. The rest of the world has always treated her with fear because of her witchcraft.

Orpheus and Eurydice spend their last few minutes together, but sadly she must be put out of her misery before she turns into a zombie. Ariadne is about to stab Eurydice, but Orpheus does it himself, promising Eurydice as he kills her that not even death will be able to separate them.

Jason and Medea reach the others. Hercules is ready to kill Medea, but Jason pleads with him to spare her life. Even Ariadne and Pythagoras aren’t keen on sparing Medea, but Medea reveals that they need her help to break the spell that summoned the undead army. They must return to the spot where the summoning began and destroy the magical glyphs. Hercules ties Medea’s hands behind her back so she can’t try to betray them, and the group heads back towards the upper level of the Necropolis. Ariadne confesses her love to Jason and the two share a kiss.

Jason and Hercules approach the summoning sarcophagus. While Jason holds back the undead, Hercules smashes the stone with the glyphs, breaking the spell and destroying the undead. Returning to the group, Jason thanks Medea for her help and unties her hands. The moment she is free, Medea seizes a knife, stabs Ariadne, and flees.
