Recap of Ash vs. Evil Dead
Season 3, Episode 2:
Booth Three
- Ruby: You may be born from the image of that idiot Ash, but you'll be nothing like him.
Ruby drives through the rain, fighting contractions as the child inside of her attempts to rip out of her. She almost runs over two hitchhikers and stops the car, just as the child starts tearing its way out of her womb. The hitchhikers hear her screams and become scared as the car's windows become caked in blood. The man decides to open the door and look what's inside and sees Ruby with her chest and stomach torn open. An umbilical cord goes to the backseat, and he sees a bloodied baby lying on the floor. He lifts it and shows it to his companion, but suddenly the baby shows its demonic mouth and bites him in the neck, drinking his blood and pumping it into Ruby through the cord. Ruby wakes up and rips the cord with her teeth, then gets out of the car and picks up her son. As the wounded man tries to crawl away and his female companion screams, Ruby stomps on his head and crushes it.
At Ash's house, Brandy is given Cheryl's room to live in, with creepy posters and paintings scattering through the room. Ash knocks and tries to comfort her after what happened yesterday, but the girl remains sullen. He gives her the phone she left in the Delta and says her school counselor, Ms. Prevett, has left her a message. Brandy sks Ash to drive her to school to talk to her. Downstairs, Pablo and Kelly talk about her new acquaintance Dalton and about her joining the Knights of Sumeria. Pablo questions Dalton, and the knight gives him a quick rundown about the Dark Ones and that Ruby has sent the others into Hell, remaining the only one on Earth. A sorceress named Kaya was seduced by the Necronomicon's power, but had her soul trapped within the book, and thus it was said that only the "prophesized one" would finally rid the world of the Dark Ones. Ash comes downstairs, frustrated that he doesn't know anything about being a father, and Kelly hopes that there are no more little Brandies running around, making him have a brief nightmare about his potential children. He remembers Deadite Rachel talking about his seed and sends Pablo to open the store while he takes Brandy to school.
During the drive, Ash attempts to bond with Brandy, telling her stories about how she was conceived in the Delta, but she turns on the radio to shut him up. At the school gate, they see a memorial to Rachel, and Brandy is reluctant to go in there, so Ash tells her to keep quiet about what really happened. At the school, she has flashbacks of the previous night and sees other students staring at her. She finally gets in Ms. Prevett's office, who turns out to be Ruby. She tells Ruby about Rachel turning into a Deadite and cries, and the woman helps her calm down.
In Ash's trailer remodelled into a workshop, Pablo prepares the weapons for the next fight when suddenly he hears a woman's voice calling him and feels the pain as more Sumerian script appears on his body. He sees a strange three-faced mask on the sofa and tries to pick it up, when suddenly it turns into an almost naked woman with a large ceremonial knife. She warns Pablo about great danger and says she was sent by El Brujo, and that only magia will save him from the etchings. Kelly walks into the trailer and sees only Pablo. Dalton sees marks on his skin and says that he's been marked by evil, meaning he's going to turn into a demon. Kelly tells him to calm down and says that he's going to be fine, but it doesn't help to stay the knight's suspicions.
Ruby tells Brandy that Ash has murdered Cheryl and many other people and sends her to the police custody for her own good. Ash heads to a local sperm bank where the receptionist, Mrs. Lam, recognizes him and asks another medic named Marci if anyone has used his samples, bribing her with a discount at his store. While he's waiting for the results, he sees a couple of adult magazines and decides to donate some more. Ruby sends a demon to the bank who possesses Mrs. Lam and kills Marci, while a picture in Ash's magazine starts moving and attacks him. He starts fighting against both of them, dodging semen samples all over, and sprays Mrs. Lam with liquid nitrogen, shattering her head. The magazine attacks Ash from below, but he puts it into a cabinet and severs the arm with a door, getting out without much damage.
Kelly visits Pablo at the store and sees his food stall, clearly happy for him, but he's angry at Dalton and her for leaving him and Ash. She tells that Dalton thinks there's evil within him. Ash comes to the store and says that protecting Brandy is his primary responsibility. Ruby comes back home and talks to the female hitchhiker, telling her about the plan for her son to kill Ash and take his place as the chosen one, feeding his human flesh.

- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Ruby works as Brandy's school counselor, getting closer to Brandy
- Fan Disservice: A topless Lucy Lawless... with her stomach completely torn open and her innards in full view.
- Enfant Terrible: Ruby's son is a clearly demonic creature that almost kills a man in the first minutes after being born.
- Fetus Terrible: Ruby's baby shows signs of demonic heritage even before being born.
- Groin Attack: The woman from the magazine grabs Ash's groin in an attempt to castrate him.
- Hypocritical Humor: Just before the possessed porn magazine attacks Ash, the stripper calls him, "Objectifying motherfucker."
- I Am a Humanitarian: Ruby's baby is fed human flesh by his mother.
- Literally Shattered Lives: After dousing Mrs. Lam in liquid nitrogen, Ash shatters her head with the bottom of the tank.
- Mr. Exposition: Dalton gives Pablo (and the audience) a quick introduction to the Knights of Sumeria, their history and goals.
- No One Could Survive That!: If not for Ruby being immortal, she'd never get up after the child tore her open.
- Screaming Birth: Ruby goes through a truly horrific birth, with the child clawing its way out of her womb. No wonder bloodcurdling screams were heard around the car.
- Soundtrack Dissonance: Ash fighting a Deadite-possessed doctor and and centerfold model in a sperm bank in "Booth Three" is set to "Take on Me" by A Ha.
- Stripperiffic: The masked woman in Pablo's vision wears only a mask and a loincloth, with nails pierced through her nipples.
