Go To

The model home collapses. Tobias and Kitty head to Las Vegas together.

The Arrested Development episode "Righteous Brothers" provides examples of:

  • Bathroom Break-Out: George Sr. escapes custody by switching places with his brother in the courthouse toilet and then escaping through the bathroom window.
  • Big Damn Kiss: George Michael and Maeby, just before the living room collapses.
  • Call-Back:
Barry: Are those balls? Because the last time we were here, they were balls.
  • Dude, He's Like, in a Coma!: GOB kissing his unconscious dad in the car.
  • Kissing Cousins: The theme is picked up again with the fake movie Maeby is producing as well as the actually kiss shared between her and George Michael.
  • No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: invoked Maeby produces an American remake of the French film about cousins dating, Les Cousins Dangereux. A religious group (led by her cousin's girlfriend, Ann Veal) protests the film and turns it into a hit.
  • Not Blood Siblings: Maeby's American remake of Dangerous Cousins tastelessly explains that the couple weren't biological cousins. This is then used and lampshaded between Maeby and George Michael.
  • Not Me This Time: Lucile assumes that Oscar told Buster that he was his true father, after Buster confronted her about it, a reasonable assumption, given his not so subtle hints across the season. In fact Buster figured it out by chance, based on Oscar yelling that he was going to share his 'Pop Secret' with Buster, referring to the brand of popcorn he was holding at the time.
  • Pun-Based Title: On the singing group the Righteous Brothers.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: By the end Barry Zuckerkorn realizes that the case has gotten over his head and so he flees.
  • Visual Pun: When George-Michael and Maeby are in the sinking living room, Maeby kisses him as a thank you for helping her with the premiere of Dangerous Cousins, and says jokingly, "Look at that, we didn't get swallowed up into Hell." Cue George-Michael sitting on the couch, causing the floor to collapse and the both of them to fall into the hole in the ground.
  • Wham Episode: George Sr. gets out of prison... by tricking Oscar into taking his place.
  • Wham Line: "Later, while George was shaving his unconscious brother's head, he wondered whether there really was a reward, and if there was a way he could get it."
