Recap / Archer S 9 E 7 Comparative Wickedness

Go To

With Fuchs and his soldiers approaching the village, Archer and company prepare to fight.

  • Bamboo Technology: Pam somehow fashions an Automatic Crossbow out of sticks and vines while tripping balls.
  • But Not Too White: The cannibals are extremely racist to white people. And when they win against the Germans, they chant their victory demeaning white people, adding "no offense."
  • Descent into Addiction: Fuchs ends up snorting a lot of imported cocaine over the course of the episode so much that he becomes unhinged, more so when his entire battalion is killed. He even gets a white mustache that makes him look like Hitler.
  • Elite Mooks: The stormtroopers arrive to help Fuchs, but it's ultimately subverted as they fall the same way as the normal German soldiers.
  • God Guise: For completely unknown reasons, the Mua-Mua think that Charlotte is their goddess, Kahlua. She enthusiastically goes along with it.
  • I'm a Humanitarian:
    • The cannibals aren't above eating human trespassers but don't like eating dicks, but they are into eating their testicles.
    • Charlotte gets to eat oysters as she's been demanding to eat some, but then Noah points out that, while she's shown oysters, they literally carry human testicles. And yet, she decides to try one anyway (with mignonette).
  • Mushroom Samba: Pam spends the episode tripping on frog poison.
  • One-Woman Army: Malory casually takes Archer's gun and kills an entire squad of stormtroopers without moving from her spot.
  • Precision F-Strike: The shows gets to drop its first uncensored f-bomb, with Archer calling Noah " the fucking worst".
  • Stupid Jetpack Hitler: Fuchs dons an actual suit of Mini-Mecha that he finds in a crate the stormtroopers brought with them. Seriously.
  • Training the Peaceful Villagers: Subverted in that the Mua-Mua, being cannibals, are anything but peaceful. Nonetheless, everything else about this trope applies as Archer helps them with tactics and traps to withstand the Nazi attack.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Whether it's a combination of the cocaine or losing his soldiers, Fuchs is starting to go crazy by the end of the episode, devolving into Laughing Mad and crying.
