Archer and the gang learn the awful truth behind the lost hydrogen bomb, and must now stop a huge attack on the U.S. before it's too late.
This episode provides examples of:
- Anguished Declaration of Love: Archer tells Lana he loves her right before drowning.
- Fake Crossover: Despite being voiced by a different actor, Captain Murphy is meant to be the Captain Murphy from Sealab 2021.
- Heel–Face Door-Slam: Murphy is willing to drop his toxic missile threat (mostly because of Archer's incompetence flooding the entire place), but he is crushed by pressure from a vending machine.
- The Hero Dies: Archer dies of oxygen deprivation, but gets revived.
- Heroic Sacrifice: As the complex starts to flood, Archer gives Lana the last oxygen suit because she's going to be a mom.
- The Reveal: Lana is pregnant, and Cyril is not the father.
- Riches to Rags: Cecil turns out to have gone broke because of his awful spending on his humanitarian projects (the sea lab alone was $200 million of his $500 million, and yet there was no progress done down there because of his own incompetence) as he didn't think it would be so costly, which is why it was another reason for him to seize Cheryl's split fortune.
- Rags to Riches: Only then he becomes richer than ever thanks to the fact that the insurance on his sea lab was three times more worth than what he used it on.
- Running Gag: Ray once more gets crippled on his (bionic) legs due to Archer shocking the entire submarine with the defibrillator ruining the bionic leg engines.
- Shout-Out: Archer deliberately drowning and being resuscitated via Magical Defibrillator is a reference to The Abyss.
- Tempting Fate: Archer listens to his team about not shooting his gun in the lab to avoid flooding the whole place, then the gun goes off because Krieger's safety lock wasn't properly put on.
- Wham Episode: In that we discover Lana is pregnant.
- Wham Line: When Malory complains about wanting money:
- Tiffy: Join the club.
