When ODIN shows up the agency yet again, Archer and Lana plot to get their revenge by stealing a priceless diamond belonging to ODIN's best client.
This episode provides examples of:
- All for Nothing: The security test operation in the Cold Opening was a success. Sort of. Unfortunately, the client refuses to hire ISIS because they poisoned the guards rather than tranquilize them (thanks to Archer).
- Ask a Stupid Question...:Lana: Why the hell is your phone on?Archer: Because I have a social life. M'yello?Malory: Why the hell is your phone on?Archer: Because I have a social— why did you call!?
- Chopper on Standby: Apparently ISIS has one. As soon as Malory agrees to give the drones their cost of living raise, they call for a helicopter to extract Archer and Lana, who are pinned down and wounded on a mission. The chopper arrives almost as soon as they call for it.
- Eye Scream: This is the first appearance of Archer's night vision goggles, and the beginning of the Running Gag where he's blinded while wearing them.
- Here We Go Again!: Malory sends a challenge for ISIS to infiltrate the museum to actually steal its diamond, and prove themselves better than ODIN, Lana warns her that her boast just cost them the element of surprise. Plus, the place will be crawling with ODIN agents.
- Running Gag:
- Archer being blinded by his night vision goggles.
- Archer's reverence for Burt Reynolds.
- Also, Archer's "Mulatto Butts" ringtone going off at the least opportune moment.
- Shout-Out: Archer quotes Lewis from Deliverance. Lampshaded by Lana.
- So Much for Stealth: When Archer and Lana return to the museum to steal the diamond (for real), Lana yells at him in annoyance and anger, alerting everyone in the vicinity. Archer's Eye Scream thanks to being blinded sealed it, forcing them to abort the mission.Archer: You know he [Burt Reynolds] does his own stunts.Lana: I KNOW!!! HE DOES HIS OWN STUNTS!!!
- Strike Episode: The B Plot involves Pam and Cyril sparking a union in the ISIS Support staff, specifically so Cyril can get a better engagement ring for Lana. Since they are a spy agency, they can't actually name the reason why they are striking, which is cost-of-living. Onlookers just think they are picketing the laundromat for no reason.
