Frylock creates a time machine. When Shake tries it, it only sends him to Carl's house. However when Frylock uses the time machine it transports him to the far future where giant cockroaches roam the desolate planet.
- Behind the Black: The year 8009 is actually just Carl’s bedroom, the far end of which has been dressed up with space-themed props. Frylock and Carl himself somehow fail to notice this.
- Big Creepie Crawlies: Frylock gets chased by giant hostile cockroaches whenever he goes to the future. It turns out they’re just very large and talkative modern-day cockroaches who have infested Carl’s bedroom and who somehow concluded that they came from the future to keep Frylock from patenting his time machine.
- Blatant Lies: Shake claims that he did go to the future where he became the ruler of the civilized giant cockroaches instead of Carl's house. When Frylock goes to the future where he sees the clearly not civilized man-eating cockroaches, Frylock lies and says that he is now their new ruler. Both of them know the other is lying, but they are too embarrased to admit it.
- Downer Ending: The time machine is a bust, the Aqua Teens lose their house, and Meatwad dies.
- Karma Houdini: Shake gets away with bashing Carl's skull in and robbing his house.
- Time Machine: Subverted. What Frylock actually made is not a time machine, but a teleporter. "8008" is the coordinates for Carl's house while "7734" is the coordinates for the Aqua Teen's house. "8009" did not send Frylock to the future, but to a fake set of the apocalyptic future that was a few feet away from Carl's living room.
- Too Dumb to Live: Meatwad remains completely oblivious to the missile that was aiming towards their house and dies in the resulting explosion.
- Vehicular Sabotage: Shake is somehow the first of the two to deduce that he and Frylock might not be going to the same place (he’s ultimately wrong but it doesn’t seem to occur to Frylock to go to “8008”), so he shoves the latter into the machine, sabotages the controls with grape soda, and sends him on his way.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Carl isn’t seen after abandoning Frylock, presumably having been teleported to a completely random location.
- With Friends Like These...: Carl immediately abandons Frylock in what they thought was the year 8009 once the time machine was working again.
