Twas the Day Before Christmas has examples of:

  • Bat Family Crossover: While framed as a Slappy Squirrel short, it prominently features nearly every character in the show.
  • Chariot Pulled by Cats: Santa Ralph's sleigh is pulled by pigeons, which includes the Goodfeathers.
  • Framing Device: The episode is framed as a bedtime story told by Slappy Squirrel to Skippy on Christmas Eve.
  • Non Sequitur, *Thud*: Downplayed. After falling through the water tower roof, Ralph, as Santa, says, "Dahhh, happy Easter, you guys!"
  • The Parody Before Christmas: Slappy's story is structured as this kind of parody.
  • Santa Claus: Plotz has Ralph play Santa to leave presents for the Warners, with the Goodfeathers as the reindeer. Also, Pinky and the Brain impersonate Santa in another fruitless attempt at world domination. But the real Santa appears flying over the studio at the end.
  • Think of the Censors!:
Yakko: Then, laying his finger inside of his nose,
Which the dear network censor finds totally gross...
  • This Is Gonna Suck: After accidentally knocking Brain off the water tower, Pinky is well aware he'll get quite a punishment for it.
  • Toilet Humor:
Dot: The stockings were hung so our names clearly showed...
Wakko: In hopes that old Santa would leave a big load.
    Yakko: Goodnight, everybody!
  • Who Would Be Stupid Enough?: Dr. Scratchansniff doesn't want to play Santa, because when he did so the previous year, the Warners made him sing carols with them half the night, then creamed him in a big pillow fight.
Plotz: There must be a person who'll deliver this stuff.
But where can I find someone stupid enough?
[He looks out the window and sees Ralph.]

Jingle Boo has examples of:

  • Mall Santa: Boo's disguise for this episode.
