Airdate: September 14, 1993.

Opening line:

Yakko, Wakko and Dot: "Pinky and the Brain-y"

Yakko's World

Yakko sings a song naming each nation of the world.

"Yakko's World" has examples of:

  • Artistic License – Geography: Yakko doesn't quite get all the countries right, and he uses names that were outdated even in 1993 for some of them.
    • Antarctica is shown to be much smaller than it actually is.
    • Incongruous mentions of "Caribbean" and "Asia" are randomly thrown in to create rhymes and observe the meter.
    • Several dependent territories are listed as if they were nations in their own right, such as French Guiana, Maore (France); Bermuda, Cayman (UK); Puerto Rico, and Guam (USA).
    • Tobago is just an island; the country is called "Trinidad and Tobago". Similarly, Crete is an island that is part of Greece, and Transylvania is part of Romania.
    • San Juan, Algiers, Abu Dhabi and Dubainote  are listed as countries as well, when they are the capital cities of Puerto Rico (which as already mentioned is not a country), Algeria and the United Arab Emirates respectively, while Dubai is just a popular tourist destination in the Emirates.
    • Yakko refers to the Philippines as "The Philippine Islands". Yakko is describing the islands themselves, not the Republic of the Philippines.
    • He lists several territories which are usually considered countries despite not being sovereign states, such as Scotland, England, and Taiwan.
    • Yakko also refers to "both Yemens", when North and South Yemen were actually unified in 1990, while referring to North Korea and South Korea together as just "Korea", even though they're completely different countries that don't even recognize each other.
    • Tibet is mentioned to be a nation, when it hasn't been a country since 1950 and is now a part of China.
  • Britain Is Only England: When Yakko points out England, all of the United Kingdom lights up.
  • Lyrical Shoehorn: Besides the geographical distortions for the sake of rhyme and rhythm, the song also lists "Republic Dominican" (the Spanish word order) rather than "Dominican Republic".
  • Patter Song: To the tune of "El Jarabe Tapatío (Mexican Hat Dance)".

Cookies for Einstein

The Warners knock the door of one Albert Einstein, hoping to sell him cookies. But Einstein is too busy trying to prove a theory, so the Warners get aggressive.

"Cookies for Einstein" has examples of:

  • Artistic License – Physics: Einstein's E=MC2 formula isn't part of his Theory of Relativity as is implied in the short. It is his mass-energy conversion formula.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: When Wakko writes "Acme" backwards on Einstein's chalkboard, it looks like the famous E=MC2 equation because Wakko's lowercase 'a' looks like a 2, as noted by Yakko.
  • Funny Background Event: While Einstein leaves the house, Dot watches Wakko jump behind an x-ray.
  • Mythology Gag: At one point, the Warners take a pic of Einstein sticking his tongue out. This is a real picture. On his 72nd birthday, Einstein had a full day of picture taking and he was tired of smiling, so he stuck his tongue out instead.
  • Reverse Psychology: Yakko tricks Einstein into leaving his own house.
  • Scout-Out: The Warners are members of the Kid Scouts, and attempt to sell some cookies to Einstein.
  • Where No Parody Has Gone Before: Wakko imitates a redshirt saying, "I don't think he can take any more, captain. He's about to blow!"

Win Big

In order to fund their plot for world domination, the Brain builds a robotic body and enters a game show.

"Win Big" has examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Alex Quebec constantly misnames Brain "Brian".
  • Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: "I think so, Brain, but where are we gonna find a duck and a hose at this hour?"
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Pinky is too distracted by Gyp-Parody to listen to the Brain's plan.
Pinky: What is "narf"? What is "poit"?
The Brain: What is "inordinately short attention span", Alex?
    • Just for the record, what is "narf"? And what is "poit"?
  • The Cameo: In the first of a literal Running Gag, the Warners are seen outside the lab being chased by Ralph.
  • Chekhov's Lecture: The "Bang! Zoom!" quote Pinky's been obsessing over the entire episode turns out to be the key of the final question. Unfortunately, the Brain doesn't care for television...
  • Coincidental Broadcast: When the Brain needs $99,000.00 to fund the Infindibulator, he wonders where he's going to get the money. He then sees the episode of Gyp-Parody that he and Pinky were watching, where a contestant got the final question wrong and lost her chance at winning $99,000.00.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Both Pinky and the Brain's voices are less refined.
  • Mobile-Suit Human: Brain builds one to pose as a human. However, his mousy head is visible, but no one seems to notice or care.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Alex Quebec is an Expy of Alex Trebek, the host of Jeopardy!.
  • Running Gag: Yakko, Wakko, and Dot make a cameo where they run on top of the taxi the Brain is taking, being chased by Ralph, beginning a literal running gag throughout the series.
  • Selective Magnetism: The Brain's plan for world domination in this episode is to build a Super-Conductive Magnetic Infindibulator, which will give the Earth a magnetic force so strong, that humans with loose pocket change will get stuck to the ground.
  • Shout-Out: The ending is a reference to The Honeymooners episode "Ralph's $64,000 Question", in which Ralph goes on a game show and selects "Music" as his topic, despite not knowing anything about music. So he has Norton play some songs on the piano, but every time he warms up, he plays the opening notes of "Swanee River", much to Ralph's chagrin. Of course, when Ralph goes on the show, the very first question is "Who composed 'Swanee River'?" and Ralph incorrectly guesses, "Ed Norton?". Similarly, in this episode, when Brain is asked about the character who said "Bang! Zoom! Straight to the moon", Brain incorrectly responds, "Who is Pinky?"
  • Show With In A Show: Gyp-Parody, which Brain goes on to try to win the $99,000.00 he needs to fund the Infindibulator. To a lesser extent, Wheel of Misfortune and $10,000.00 Pile of Mud.
  • Shown Their Work: Brain loses on Gyp-Parody when he gets the final question wrong after wagering his entire earnings, and he is not invited to come back on the next game. On the actual show, no champion is crowned if neither contestant finishes Final Jeopardy! with a score above $0.
  • Status Quo Game Show: The Brain goes on Gyp-Parody to win the $99,000.00 he needs to fund the Infindibulator. Being a genius, he answers everything correctly - until the last round, of course, because the question was about the TV show Pinky had been watching at the beginning of the segment until The Brain made him turn it off.
  • Take That!: One of the correct responses is "What is a Regis Philbin?", beginning a semi-recurring gag of making a punching bag out of Philbin on the series.

Wheel Of Morality:
Yakko: If at first you don't succeed, blame it on your parents.

Yakko: I'm Yakko.
Wakko: I'm Wakko.
