Roll Over, Beethoven has examples of:

  • Been There, Shaped History: The Warners inspire Beethoven to write his Fifth Symphony, by humming the first bars while sweeping his chimney.
  • Burping Contest: The Warners start one after eating lunch. Dot wins.
  • The Cameo: The Goodfeathers appear at the beginning of act two.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: The Warners keep humming a certain set of bars, which Beethoven later uses in his Symphony. At the end, Wakko decides to bring a flower for "That Van Gogh grouch."
  • Here We Go Again!: After dealing with Beethoven, the Warners next go to see Vincent van Gogh.
  • Shout-Out: One of the tunes Beethoven plays while composing his Fifth Symphony is "Merrily We Roll Along", the Merrie Melodies theme.
  • Unions Suck: The Warner siblings arrive at Beethoven's house to sweep his chimney, only to immediately go on a lunch break before starting any work. When Beethoven questions why they're taking a break before doing anything, Dot smugly informs him they're unionized.

The Cat and the Fiddle has examples of:

  • Artistic License – History: Contrary to popular belief, "catgut" didn't use cat guts at all. Violin strings were made from the lining of sheep intestines, but to keep their work methods secret, violin makers perpetrated the myth that they used cat intestines, as killing a cat was considered bad luck. However, the Violin maker acknowledges that using cat guts was something only he did and sheep guts were more commonly used.
  • Cruella to Animals: The main antagonist kills cats and uses their guts to make violins.

Closing Tower Gag: "Clap on. Clap off. Clap On, Clap off, show's over!"- Yakko, Wakko, and Dot
