A stolen Griffin egg leads Jake & Fu on a frenzied romp through New York as they have to get the egg back from the Huntsclan.
Jake, Grandpa, Trixie, Spud and Fu Dog must comically stumble through an elaborate heist to retrieve a Leprechaun’s stolen gold from a millionaire dark wizard named Eli Pandarus.

"The Egg" contains examples of
Having to eat hundreds of peanut butter eggs may not sound like a bad job until your sixth trip to the bathroom.
- Bizarre Alien Biology: Jake is understandably freaked out after he sees the Griffin eat its hatchling, but Fu explains; baby Griffins have to spend a few weeks in its mother’s digestive tract after it’s born. After that, the mother will regurgitate it back up, completely unharmed.Fu Dog: Ain't it beautiful?
Jake: I think I’m gonna hurl… - Balloon Belly: This happens to Jake and Fu when the egg gets lost amongst thousands of peanut butter-covered eggs.
- Easter Special: This episode seems to take place during Easter, as at one point the egg gets lost during an Easter egg hunt.
- Egg Sitting: Jake, Trixie, and Spud have this as their health class project. Spud draws a smile on it and names it “Smiley”.
- Mood Whiplash: Played for Laughs. We get to see the baby Griffin hatch, and Jake muses that while being the American Dragon is a tough job, it’s moments like this that make it Worth It... only to see the mother Griffin eat the baby. Thankfully, the baby is fine due to Griffins’ Bizarre Alien Biology.
- Needle in a Stack of Needles: This happens to the egg a few times; First, it falls into a ball-pit. Then, it gets mixed up in a public Easter Egg hunt. And finally, it ends up stuck in a candy factory making peanut butter eggs. For that one, Jake and Fu have to taste test God knows how many eggs before finding the real one.
- Produce Pelting: The other attendants at the egg hunt in the park throw eggs at Jake when he takes the griffin egg back from the girl who found it on the lawn.
- Shown Their Work: They take great care to have the confectionery factory the egg falls into produce peanut butter eggs as opposed to the more common chocolate, as Fu being a dog would have gotten severely ill if he attempted to eat through all that chocolate, whereas peanut butter is perfectly safe (though Fu being magical would likely make him immune to the standard canine chocolate-deficiency, it's still a good lesson to teach any kids watching).
- Villain: Exit, Stage Left: After they believe the egg has been destroyed, Hunstman and Huntgirl decide to retreat back to their headquarters rather than continue to fight Jake.
"The Heist" contains examples of
A dark sorcerer who invests in a science-based Laser Hallway. Guess it's the Wall Street in him coming out.
- Actor Allusion: Eli Pandarus is voiced by Jonathan Freeman, who’s best known for playing another Evil Sorceror created by Disney.
- Air-Vent Passageway: How Jake and Fu Dog reach the vault.
- Answer Cut: After Jake reveals he stashed the gold in the case, Spud wonders what it was Pandarus got in the pot. Cut to Pandarus opening the pot to find the stew Spud and Trixie made.
- Brick Joke: A kind of meta-one. A waiter (voiced by Jeff Bennet) keeps rhyming things with "stew". In the end, when Pandarus (whose voice resembles Jeff Bennet's) is left with stew, he also finishes the rhyme with "You're fired, all of you!"
- Chekhov's Gun: The episode starts with Jake and Lao Shi playing chess, the latter advising the boy that it pays to be two steps ahead of your opponent. Later, thanks to this same advice, Jake uses his head and carefully stashes the leprechaun's gold inside the guitar case, anticipating the scenario that Pandarus would intercept them.
- Drives Like Crazy: Lao Shi. Makes sense when you remember back in "Professor Rotwood's Thesis" that he doesn’t have a driver’s license.
- Giant Spider: The Kumo, Pandarus’ idea of a guard dog.
- Gilligan Cut: We get one when Lao Shi advises Jake about keeping a cool head… only to see him immediately road raging.Lao Shi: HIT THE PEDAL, GRETEL! I’M NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER! (rants in Chinese)
- Laser Hallway: Jake has to go through one to get the stolen pot of Leprechaun gold. He manages to get in and out with next to no problem... only to accidentally trigger the alarm with his tail.
- Not Hyperbole: Spud assumes Pandarus' title, "The Wizard of Wall Street", refers to his money. Fu tells him it's because Pandarus is an actual wizard.
- Once More, with Clarity: The first time we see it, Jake takes the pot of gold and ducks into the cart, only for Pandarus to intercept it. But later, Jake explains he anticipated that, and instead put the gold in the guitar case.
- Rhymes on a Dime: Trixie and Spud encounter a waiter who speaks like this.Waiter: What are you two standing around for? We need that stew!
Spud: Uh...stew?
Waiter: Stew! What are you, new? You know what to do!
Spud: Make some...stew?
Waiter: So true! I'll be back in two, and I want that stew!
