Release Date: December 11, 2011

In this year's Christmas episode, Stan finds himself excommunicated from Christianity after news hits that he beat up Jesus (actually, a drunk Roger dressed up as Jesus) during the town's Christmas pageant. Meanwhile, Hayley and Jeff adopt a child who may be the spawn of Satan.

Tropes

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Father Donovan admits that Stan's stunt at the church was pretty amusing.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Father Donovan loses both his legs during the orphanage collapse.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Jeff says he named his adopted son Nemo after his favorite book... the novelization of Finding Nemo, not Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Stan gets shot and hospitalized by Hayley, who allows the Antichrist to wreak havoc again by relocating him to Sarah Palin. However, Stan is authorized back into Christianity because Roger's "pimp cup" was the Holy Grail all along.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Stan when Father Donovan presents him with a Santa outfit:
    Stan: Fireman Jesus?
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Stan brutally beats up Roger in a Jesus costume, which gets him in massive trouble. Additionally, he uses a bunch of slurs directed toward Roger that are taken by the public as directed toward Jesus.
    • Roger himself knows how much Stan's faith means to him, yet he takes the part of the Jesus at the mall just to get under Stan's skin.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Roger takes the role of Jesus despite being an atheist who mocks religion and needles Stan by getting the part the latter was rejected from. While Stan's rage is understandable, he absolutely pummels Roger to a bloody pulp on the stage.
  • Enfant Terrible: Nemo, the Antichrist, kills several people and plans to unleash his terror upon the world.
  • Epic Fail: Just as he is about to finish the Antichrist, Stan ends up misfiring and accidentally stabs Roger's right hand.
  • Fingore: Stan stabs Roger's right hand with the sacred daggers by accident.
Roger: Ahh!! You dumb son of a...! No, that's not who Roland is. [cheerfully] Hey, you're doing great!
  • Honor Before Reason: Hayley shoots Stan to stop him from killing Nemo... who is the Antichrist.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Jeff realizes that Nemo is the Antichrist because his name is 'Omen' spelled backwards... even though he was the one who gave him the name in the first place.
  • Karma Houdini: Hayley does not get arrested for shooting Stan and allowing the Antichrist to unleash his reign of terror again.
  • Kick the Dog: In the midst of being beaten to a pulp by Stan, Roger insults one of his co-stars by calling her ugly.
  • Knight Templar Parent: Hayley is willing to shoot Stan in the head for trying to kill Nemo.
  • Mall Santa: Due to being overweight, Stan is left with this position instead of the role of Jesus.
  • Mama Bear: Hayley is willing to shoot Stan to save Nemo, even if he is the Antichrist.
  • Never My Fault: Stan tries to blame Roger for his excommunication when he should have better controlled his temper in the first place.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Stan dishes one out to Roger, leaving the latter bloodily bruised.
Stan: You don't deserve to be on that cross, you lazy, wine-loving bisexual!
  • Not What It Looks Like: Stan's fight against Roger makes the public assume that he is a religious menace. In actuality, he was envious over Roger getting the role of Jesus despite being an alcoholic hedonist.
Stan: (defensively) I wasn't slurring Jesus. I was talking about Roger!
  • Persona Non Grata: Exaggerated. After beating up Roger during the play, Stan doesn't just get kicked out of his local church; he gets kicked out of the entire religion of Christianity.
  • Precision F-Strike: From the Pope of all people after watching Stan beating up Roger on the news.
The Pope: (on a hamburger phone) Are you watching this shit?!
  • Prequel: This episode is this to "Rapture's Delight".
  • Rage Breaking Point: Stan was already upset he didn't get the role of Jesus (due to being too big) that went to Roger instead (despite Roger's hedonistic personality). The realization that Roger is currently drunk is what causes Stan to lose his marbles and brutally beat Roger on the spot.
Roger: Hey, can you take it down a notch? You're ruining my buzz.
    Stan: You're drunk?!
    Roger: Hell, yeah, man!
Stan: That's it! (starts assaulting Roger)
  • Revenge Before Reason: Stan beats up Roger because the latter got the role of Jesus he himself wasn't fit for, leading to him getting excommunicated as the incident goes viral.
  • Save the Villain: Hayley prevents Stan from killing Nemo by shooting him and has Nemo relocated to Alaska to live with Sarah Palin.
  • Take That!:
    • Stan comes home covered in blood, to which he tries to defend himself.
Stan: I sat next to Courtney Love, and she sneezed.
    • Jared Fogle from Subway being removed from the Christian religion.
    • The Antichrist gets taken in by Sarah Palin.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Stan goes through this at the Christmas play where he brutally assaults Roger in a fit of rage.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Stan tries to kill Nemo, although this is justified since he is the Antichrist.
