- Bested at Bowling: Archie loses to Irene in a game of pool, thus proving that women can compete against men in sports —which was Irene's point. Especially considering that Irene is a Wrench Wench.
- Men Are Strong, Women Are Pretty: Archie believes this wholeheartedly when it comes to sports. He doesn't think women can compete against men in any sport, not just the ones with a strength-dependent outcome but the ones that rely more on skill as well. Irene wants to prove him wrong, so she challenges him to a game of billiards.
- Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Archie tries to get out of the game of pool against Irene by faking a back injury. He gets caught and loses anyway.
