With his new consultant Eloise, King Julien sets out to make his entourage hipper.

- Call-Back: When Clover beats up Eloise and reveals she was the ring-tailed mongoose Pam the entire time, Clover feels a sense of accomplishment, the fact that Clover lost a fight to Pam before having been shown to be a sore spot for Clover.
- Easy Impersonation: As revenge for Todd taking his place, Mort pretends to be Todd for Tammy. Mort barely bothers to look or act like Todd; fortunately, Tammy is too distraught to notice.
- Gone Horribly Right: Tammy plots to have Todd become the new member of Julien's entourage. She succeeds, but now Todd wants nothing to do with her, which she takes very hard.
- Literal Metaphor: Eloise's ultimate goal is to make the puppet Buck the new king of the kingdom, marry him and rule by proxy, establishing a literal puppet state.
- Mirror Monologue: While investigating Eloise, Clover goes a bit crazy and starts talking to her own reflection. She even admits that she might be going crazy while doing this.
- Running Gag: A puppet named Buck operated by Pancho quickly becomes the most popular citizen in the kingdom, but any attempt by Pancho himself to get in on this fame is met with attack, forcing him to continue operating Buck.
- String Theory: Clover as she tries to figure out what Eloise's plan is.
- Wedding Smashers: Julien and his old crew crash Eloise's marriage to Buck.
