Continues from Verliefd (Love At First Sight)

Continues in De Boerenganzen (Journey To At)

Tropes:

  • Accidental Innuendo: In the english dub. When Wannes explains to Lispel that Atrique is a paradise for geese, the way he pronounces "geese" makes it sound like "gays".
  • But Now I Must Go: Once Winnie and Tom have citizenship and are safe in Waterland, Blanche and Kwa
  • Call-Back:
    • The bee woman Henk meets in the beginning is the same one who was in episode 21.
    • Franz's line about how kings are sometimes needed after all refers to how he during the Crows' Party arc questioned if kings are needed anymore.
  • Dub Name Change: Wannes' english name is Harry, while his finnish one is Harri.
  • Furry Reminder: Tom, Alfred, and Winnie swim like normal ducks.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Alfred repeatedly declining to listen to Lispel's report causes Lispel to sell his information to Wannes, who tells the police and gets Kwa and Blanche arrested by the police.
  • Insistent Terminology: The finnish dub refers what's undeniably coffee as "tea".
  • Just Following Orders: Inspector Sherlock is only enforcing the law, even though he disagrees with the situation it puts the people involved in.
  • Show, Don't Tell: Not done. At the end of the episode Alfred has a speech where he claims that many Waterland citizens helped to get the Wana family freed, but nothing like that is ever shown (just crowds gawking at the arrested Wanas), and them being freed is all thanks to Alfred because he went to speak with king Franz.
  • Sympathetic Inspector Antagonist: Inspector Sherlock arrests the Wanas because they're breaking the law, but bears no animosity towards them and openly encourages Alfred's efforts to get them freed.
  • The Stoic: Inspector Sherlock.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: King Franz. Inspector Sherlock to a lesser extent.
