Tropes:

  • Spoiler Title: The finnish title is "A dangerous virus".
  • Captain Obvious: After hearing that the violin grants wishes when played, Alfred conludes that it's a magic violin.
  • Rule of Three: Biljel had the same dream three times.
  • Giving Someone The Pointed Finger: Alfred briefly points his finger at the microscrope before showing his tongue to the Mozons samples [i can't remember what the tongue-showing is actually called but you know, in the insult way].
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: In the hospital's hallway, is that the same female cat who was seen in the street with a baby only minutes earlier? It certainly looks like her.
  • As You Know:
    • As Von Paljas very well knows, Biljel thought he knew all the medicines, even the rare ones.
    • As Von Paljas and Alfred know, Biljel is also a seer and has supernatural powers.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: After the Coronavirus pandemic, the ease with which everybody thinks they can solve the problem (and the insane nature of the solution, after lots of real people died from more mundane insanity other people peddled as miracle solutions to the Coronavirus). It initially looking like flu and the serious symptoms appearing in two weeks also bears an eerie resemblance to the Coronavirus. The idea of children not being able to catch the Mozons is also made harsher when you consider people said the same about the Coronavirus, but children still spread it and were reported to get symptoms.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • In at least the english and dub, the Mozons virus is so named because it comes from planet Mozon(s?).
    • In the finnish dub Biljel says he named the Mozons Virus "Sitkovirus". "Virus" just means virus, while "sitko" is a derivation of the finnish word "sitkeä", which means "hardy", "tough", "persistent", "tenacious", "stubborn", "dogged" and/or "resilient". So it's name basically means "tough virus", which it is. He says he gave it that name because it appears impossible to kill. He also says it came from a planet named Sitko.
  • No Name Given: The bear assitant in the hospital, Salibad, is never named in the finnish dub.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Captain Stoppel was also there.
  • Furry Confusion: Screaming seagulls are heard in the harbor when Alfred, Stoppel, and Von Paljas leave for the Land of Two.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Von Paljas immediately suggests the Mozons virus has come from another planet, apparently only because it's new and unknown and nothing can kill it. Von Paljas turns out to be right but his immediate assumption and the unelaborated logic behind it are still questionable.
  • Space Whale Aesop: The clown on the moon and his magic fiddle that can literally make every single Mozons virus dissappear feel like they cheapen and confuse the serious premise.
  • Ambiguously Christian: About five and half minutes in, Alfred prays to the God with the big G to help him get well so he can go to the Land of Two with Von Paljas, bit is otherwise absolutely never portrayed as religious. Technically he could also be jewish especially since the complete lack of any other religious moments leaves much to interpration, but christianity is more likely.
  • Biljel says that children are dying from non-Mozons-related conditions, but children aren't shown in any condition.
  • The way they get into the car in the south looks weird - they just walk in as if it's a door, without appearing to sit down or crawl to their seats, or moving their luggage to any realistic position for such movement before they dissappear. Being illustrated from a2D angle doesn't help
  • Dub Name Change:
    • Biljel is called Pippo in the finnish dub.
    • The Mozons virus is renamed Sitkovirus in the finnish dub.
    • Land of Two becomes Kaksoismaa in the finnish dub.
    • In the finnish dub the planet Mozon(s?) is named Sitko.
  • Dr. Parses is named dr. Nokka ("beak") in the finnish dub.
  • If Jesus, Then Aliens: Alfred and Von Paljas appear to immediately accept the idea of the Mozons virus being extraterrestrial, and the idea of a clown in the moon. When Von Paljas says he will try to find other means to destroy the Mozons, it's not in case Alfred won't find the clown but in the case the violin won't work, implying that he fully believes the violin will be there.
