Go To

Sidney comes clean about the details surrounding the day of Keith's disappearance, causing Jason to cast serious doubt on the boy claiming to be his son; Mike's police mentor brings a missing officer's case to the MPU team.

Tropes:

  • Broken Pedestal: Mike is rocked to realize his mentor George, who taught him everything about being a cop and helped raise Craig after his father was busted for corruption, has been on the take for years with Epsilon. Even worse is the realization Mike's dad was innocent and George was the corrupt cop who framed him.
Mike Sherman Jr.: "I took your word for it. About my father. I believed you. Believed in you. So much so that I never pulled his file. Never looked at who the investigating officers were. Area Six Detective George Lyle and J.R. Dalton. You made it look like he was in Epsilon's pocket. When it was you and Dalton who were. Craig Fennessey is repeat business, isn't he? The innocent man you tried to destroy before he finds out enough to destroy you. In Craig's case, you made him look like an assassin. In Dad's case, you made an honest man look like a crooked cop."
George Lyle: "I raised you, Mike. You know what kind of man I am."
Mike Sherman Jr.: "The last thing that I ever said to him was, "You're dead to me". Yeah, George, I know exactly the kind of man you are."
  • Easily Forgiven: Mike discovers his father was actually innocent of corruption and he's been wrongly blaming him for twenty years. He comes to his dad, not expecting forgiveness but his father doesn't hesitate to do so and embraces his son.
Mike Sherman Sr.: "I think about you everyday. You're my son. Everyday for the last 20 years, I was hoping for this day."
  • I Never Said It Was Poison: Kemi realizes George was involved in the killing when she learned from Mike that George claimed the supposed killer Craig Fennessey "couldn't shoot a cap gun, let alone a suppressor with polymer tips", a detail he couldn't possibly have known.
