This begins the second half of Akane no Guilty Crown in taking a much darker turn.
It's been two weeks since the last outbreak and Tokyo has been quarantined. Shu and his friends, alongside two newcomers from Roppongi High School named Yuko and Ito, have taken refuged in Tennouzu High. Hare attempts to heal Ayase's Void with her Void, but sadly failed. A culture festival occurs, especially Tsugumi and a disguised Daryl meet in person. A bunch of disgruntled refuges attack the school, but Shu and Ayase drove them off.
Then, Keido announces the quarantined area as Loop 7 to be sealed off within the walls. Endlave Ghost Units and a group of slasher aviaries named the Ouryu Kyōchō are massacring trapped civilians. Paranoia occurs within Tennouzu High, till Shu steps in and becomes student president, much to Arisa's secret resentment.
The school finds out in shock that some of their classmates are brutally murdered, unaware that it's Inori being possessed by Mana. Meanwhile in Ward 24, they receive a message from their sleeper agent, revealing to be none other than Arisa.
Tropes in this chapter:
- Darker and Edgier: Just like the second half of the anime, this brings a darker feel with the students and civilians being trapped within Loop 7's walls.
- Improbable Infant Survival: Averted, one of the Ouryu Kyōchō's victims is a baby.
- Wham Episode: The end of the chapter reveals Arisa as a traitor.
