Recap / Akane No Guilty Crown Chapter II

Go To

Tennouzu High School is introduce to Inori as the singer is receiving notice from her new classmates. Even Haruka is cheerful in greeting Inori over to her and Shu's place.

In balancing schoolwork and Funeral Parlor's time, Shu receives training for a week in order to become a part of the resistance. As Shu's confidence grew, he's is place to a mock battle with Ayase's Steiner as the final test. Initially facing a challenge, Shu then uses Argo's Void in turning the tide and passing the test.

The next day, Gai reported to Shu that someone must have saw Shu leaving Funeral Parlor headquarters, and revealing that he's located at Shu's school. So Shu and Inori are on a mission in finding the Void with the shears from a person with the codename 'Sugar'. Shu keeps searching Void after Void, one of which is a refrigerator, don't ask. Meanwhile, Heath and Akiko are suspicious of Shu's activity. At the gym, Shu confronted Yahiro, revealing to be 'Sugar' and getting his Void. Heath and Akiko witness this. And so everything is kept quiet.

Until another next day, when Yahiro pushes Shu, Heath, and Akiko out of the train; where the three are arrested by Segai.

Tropes in this chapter:

  • Adapted Out: The scene of Shu (Canon) being nude, and Ayase (Canon) freaking out in slapping him back in Episode 5 has been omitted.
  • Adaptation Deviation: Shu has successfully received Kanon’s Void with no one noticing, unlike in canon when Shu (Canon) accidentally grope Kanon (Canon)’s breast in front of the classmates.
    • Haruka interacting with Inori back in the canon Episode 7 is move early to this chapter.
    • The events of Episode 3 (Which back in canon, it happened when Shu initially refused to be part of Gai's followers) is move to after Shu's passed Ayase's test (When Shu is officially part of Funeral Parlor in AnGC).
  • Foreshadowing: When Nanba gives his comment of Inori being referred as a doll, its more than something for the songstress.
    • Gai's sympathetic look towards Shu's struggle to recall something gives a hint of that meaning.
  • Mythology Gag: Shu's training being set before the Episode 3 adaptation is similar to that formatted event back in Shackles of Guilt.
