Summoned by his family to talk about his current living situation, Haida makes his way there with Retsuko by his side. She learns why he left the household in the first place.
However, things get even more tense when Haida learns that his brother is taking part in politics with their father stepping down to recuperate from his illness.

- Calling the Old Man Out: Haida finally stood up to his father, saying he doesn’t need his money and that he will build his own fortune.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Jiro tells Haida that had he considered forwarding his new insurance statements instead of having them sent to the family house, he would have avoided being summoned by their father to discuss the situation. The change in the insurance companies is enough to tell Jiro that his brother had left the trading company.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Haida took part in a high school rock band and they became an online hit. Unfortunately, people connected him with his father, who was a member of the House of Representatives in Japan. Whatever the implications were, he branded Haida the Black Sheep of the family and they kept themselves distant ever since.
- Downer Ending: While Haida calls out his father after the old man talked down to Retsuko and his friends from the internet cafe, he doesn't seem to phase him. On their way out, Jiro convinces him to take their father's money so he doesn't have to deal with any of them, only to reveal it was similar to a "middle finger" at his younger brother.
- Establishing Character Moment: It doesn't take a lot to reveal how old-fashioned Haida's dad really is; specifically what he thinks of Retsuko, the people from the internet cafe, and the new generation he thinks is exploiting Japan's way of life. Long story short, he appears to make early series Ton look like a saint.
- On One Condition: Haida's father offers him enough money for a new apartment as long as he doesn't cause trouble while Jiro is participating in a House election.
- Stepford Smiler: Retsuko tries to keeo up a smile while visiting Haida's family, but the tension makes it impossible.
- Wham Episode: The reason why Haida lived on his own is revealed, as well as the fact that he is Jiro's older brother.
