Go To

The third episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic saves a female hedgehog from Scratch and Grounder which Sonic falls in love with, while Dr. Robotnik plans to flood a village by stealing the water from the Mobius reservoir.

Original air date, September 15, 1993.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal:
    • Among the things Breezie requests from Sonic are Mobisia Marvelosa Merigoldias and Chef Charlemaine's Choice Chili dogs.
    • Robotnik's machine that he uses in an attempt to flood a village is the Egg-O-Matic Tunnelizer and Town Terrorizer.
  • And That's Terrible: This episode's "Sonic Says" segment has Sonic tell the viewers "If someone tries to touch you in a place or in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, that's no good!" Admittedly the show was aimed at kids generally under 10 who probably could use the warning.
  • Becoming the Mask: While secretly working for Dr. Robotnik and pretending to love Sonic just to lure him into a trap, Breezie didn't plan on actually falling for Sonic but she does in the end.
  • Big "NO!": Dr. Robotnik's incredibly memetic response to Scratch and Grounder.
    Grounder: Need any help?
    Robotnik: NO!
  • Bittersweet Ending: Dr. Robotnik and his bots are defeated but Breezie leaves. Sonic is sad, but Tails brings him a note from Breezie which says she hopes they'll meet again some day.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Breezie turns out to be this as she orders Sonic around for special arrangements for herself, eventually tiring him out. And on top of that, she turns out to be working for Dr. Robotnik.
  • Burning Rubber: Sonic defeats the fire dragon guarding the Garden of the Mobisia Marvelosa Marigoldias by running around its foot, setting it on fire.
  • But Now I Must Go: Breezie leaves at the end after falling for Sonic while struggling with herself being an android. She leaves him a letter hoping maybe some day they'll meet down the line.
  • Curse Cut Short: This exchange between Scratch and Grounder after Breezie tosses Tails in the river:
    Scratch: Nice work, Agent Breezie.
Grounder: Yeah, very nice. That little brat is a real pain in the-
    Scratch: Hey!
    Grounder: ...transmission.
  • Dating Catwoman: Sonic falls head-over-heels for Breezie, unaware that she is really a robot created by and working for Robotnik.
  • Disney Death: Sonic briefly has one after being caught in Scratch and Grounder's traps. Luckily, Breezie and Tails save him.
  • Friend Versus Lover: Tails and Breezie argue over Sonic's well-being.
  • Furry Reminder: On his quest for Mobisia Marvelosa Marigoldias, Sonic is eaten by a giant python who then spits him out due to Sonic's quills.
  • Girls Have Cooties: Tails' reaction to Breezie kissing Sonic could be an example of this, considering he's still a kid.
  • Girl of the Week: Breezie the Hedgehog for Sonic, the first of many in the series.
  • Heel Realization: Breezie realizes her mistakes after reading Sonic's poem for her and frees him from the traps.
  • Human Snowman: Tails sees a snowman running towards him and Breezie. When the snowman reaches the stewpot, it melts to reveal Sonic underneath, having returned from the ice territory.
  • I Shall Return: Breezie disappears for the rest of the episode after saving Sonic. Tails then gives Sonic a letter from her, hinting that they will meet again in the future.
  • Leaving You to Find Myself: Breezie leaves at the end due to conflicts over being a robot but vows to reunite with Sonic some day.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: Sonic gets himself into trouble as he falls for Breezie who is in league with Dr. Robotnik.
  • Love-Interest Traitor: As Tails finds out, Breezie is a robot who is working with Dr. Robotnik hoping to trap Sonic.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Breezie is voluptuous, wears a red dress, and has a curvy and slender hourglass figure.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Breezie has this reaction after she reads the love poem Sonic has written and she had just orchestrated the traps set for Sonic.
  • Mythology Gag: Robotnik's Egg-O-Matic Tunnelizer and Town Terrorizer looks just like his boss vehicle in Act 2 of Marble Garden Zone.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: Among the hazards Sonic comes across on his quest for Mobisia Marvelosa Merigoldias are the Angry Alligators, which are later seen attacking the fire dragon's foot when he tries to cool off in the river.
  • Of Corsets Funny: Robotnik puts on a corset to make himself look muscular in his pilot's outfit. The corset snaps not long after he puts on said outfit

  • Picky Eater: Breezie mentions to Sonic and Tails that she will only eat Chef Charlemaine's Choice Chili Dogs.
  • Robotic Reveal: Tails finds out that Breezie is a robot when she pulls a robocom phone from her chest compartment.
  • Rod And Reel Repurposed: At the beginning of this episode, Grounder produces a fishing pole, which he tries to use to catch Breezie, but he ends up snagging it on a cactus and pulling himself in. Scratch takes the fishing pole and uses it to snag Breezie.
  • Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue...: Parodied in Sonic's love poem to Breezie.
    Robotnik is rotten,
    Alfalfa is sneezy;
    The minute I met her,
    I loved my Breezie.
  • This Is a Drill: Robotnik creates the Egg-O-Matic Tunnelizer and Town Terrorizer drill underground and use the water from a reservoir to flood a village.
  • Too Smart for Strangers:In the most infamous segment of Sonic Says; Sonic teaches kids what to do in cases of possible sexual harassment.
Sonic: Kids, there's nothing more cool than being hugged by someone you like, but if someone tries to touch you in a place, or in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, that's no good! It's your body, no one has the right to touch you if you don't want them to! So what do you do? First, you say 'No!', then you get out of there! (speeds off, then reappears) Most important, you got to tell someone you trust. Like your parents, a teacher, a police officer.
  • We Have Ways of Making You Talk: Parodied. When Scratch and Grounder capture Breezie, thinking she knows Sonic and Scratch threatens her with this exact sentence only for Grounder to ask "what ways?" which leads to Scratch's frustration, a Dope Slap and the response "stupid" which makes Grounder finally understand and say "yeah we have stupid ways of making you talk". Not.
  • Would Hurt a Child: When Tails' calls Breezie out for her selfish behavior, she retaliates by throwing him into a river. Luckily, he can fly.
