When they return to Ooo, Finn and Jake discover that there have been radical changes in their absence.
Tropes:
- Getting Smilies Painted on Your Soul: Bubblegum's candy-fication turns people into almost entirely different, happy people without any pesky "flaws".
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Finn points out that their last adventure, the eight-part "Islands" miniseries, was possibly their longest one yet.
- Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: BMO's reaction to the altered Ooo.BMO (entering the candied treehouse): This is like some kind of a sick joke... and I love it!
- Not Himself: Everyone affected by Princess Bubblegum's powers, most notably PB herself and Lemongrab: Preebs is normally fairly serious and very concerned about the state of her kingdom and its subjects, but "Terrible Tower" PB only wants everyone to have fun and relax while "pink lemonade" Lemongrab, who just wants to make people happy with his "handmade" lemonade.
- Only Sane Man: Finn is the only one who is freaked out at the transformation of Ooo and its inhabitants. Jake just takes it in stride, and BMO likes the fact that everyone has turned to candy.
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: PB has completely lost it, forcibly turning people into candy versions of themselves and seeing no problem with it.
